These are some posthumans for the 20 million years in the future project by my friend TheSpeculator21 owo

These are the imps!

ive made posthumans before for her project, and these are related to those aswell, belonging to a small tribe of hominids known as trichoantrhopini, or hairy men

they are generally around a meter in height and are arboreal and nocturnal animals, living in large communities in the trees and foraging for food frequently

they are probably one of the most intelligent animals in the whole project, having domesticated 2/3 other animals and having extremely complex behaviors

they have a social structure where mated monogamous pairs are fairly common, however individuals that possess the "golden ring" in their eyes tend to be seen as much more desirable and hence tend to be put in positions of power where they tend to have multiple polygamous partners

this golden ring is due to excess copper, a condition seen in modern humans and called "wilson's disease" however it is far more widespread on the imps, and since its seen as a desirable trait it has been showing much more prominently and much more noticeable in their population

they have three mayor groups, the mainland grouping that lives in the rainforest of central asia which are commonly known as "the weasel tamers", the more coastal grouping known as the "crayfish farmers", and a smaller insular group that lives on an island known as Kraken's Howl

the names are a reference to their tamed animals, with the mainland group having tamed large weasels that now protect their owners viciously

the crayfish farmers ofcourse have fully domesticated a species of asian crayfish, which holds large amounts of copper in its tissues, which makes this the population with the largest amount of golden rings

both the Weasel Tamers and the Crayfish farmers interact frequently, while the insular population is largely isolated

the insular population seems to begin a slight relationship with the large rodents that live on the island but it hasnt become proper domestication yet

the imps have many predators, from large owls, to large almost a meter long centipedes, to big cats and other large animals, as such they have a rich vocabulary with different calls and stories refering to their predators, stories of flying demons that take babies in the night, and large monsters that can eat the strongest of men

while not as intelligent as Homo sapiens, they are comparable to a small child in intelligence and have many tools made out of sticks and stones that help them out in their daily foraging
