Description
= Full View for tutorial . . . it's huge =This tutorial was made in Photoshop and for people who have a tablet. However, there are quite a few tips that mouse users could find helpful as well. And I ink in all other programs the same way that I do here, just with different tools.
- Well what do you know, I did get around to actually making this thing ^__^ And I really hope that at least some people will find it helpful in their artistic endeavors. I know that it is long, but I tried to keep it as short as possible without keeping anything important out. It took a bit longer than I actually imagined it would. But I still had a lot of fun doing it.
- - This is my first real tutorial, so I hope that it is up to par with what people have come to expect with tutorials. If you have any questions or concerns about anything feel free to ask them here, send me a note or whatever else you would like to do to try and reach me ^~^

Wow, what a great tutorial! I always wondered how to do digital inking but didn't really have time to play around on Photoshop until I got it, so this was totally awesome. Your advice was great and everything was made really easy to follow, thanks! I thought I'd also take the opportunity to mention that your artwork is gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you
- I know that there are a lot of ways to ink, and this is just what I have found to work best over the years. I used to ink much differently, but it took forever, and didn't even turn out as well ^^ '
I'm glad that you find it helpfull ^~^

Corey. I think it is safe to say that you have the most boring responses to people's postings . . . ever.
Six of your responses begin with "Thank you very Much." - Who says that? (Besides ancient rock icons)
In all realness, if I complimented you in person, would you say, "Thank you very much?" NO! Because I would pop you one, right in the freakin face.
If you did say "thank you very much," I think you would use it in a sarcastic tone, and thats about it.
"Thank you very much for the really nice comment".......................
Are you for real here? You don't talk like that - why would you type like that?
Sigh, I guess I expect more of your verbal style embedded into your text. I read what you write, and I am simply disapointed. If you could reflect more of your personality (which you do, with the smily things) into your writing, I think people would appreciate your work and style even more than they already do.
I can't wait to hear, "Thank you very much Cory (That's MY name) for wasting my valuable time with this unnessessarily long, redundent, questionably truthful posting. I am glad you posted your opinion however, because I am open to all criticism, and appreciate all remarks made directed towards my artwork. I will work to the best of my abilities to make my text appear more vivid and possibly lively for viewers to read. Thanks again for the comment, and for the favorite as well." (cept I aint favoritin' nothin'!)
Anyways, disregard what I wrote if you like. I felt like being a little bit of a pain in your ass, seeing how EVERYONE simply LOVES this tutorial of yours. If I knew anything at all about what you wrote about, I would probably be just as impressed.
Taking another turn in a different direction, remember, we need to work on that "Light Painting" thing I accidently did, and you helped to "not-accidently" enhance. It will be cool times, and people will be "all-up-ons" about it . . . whatever it is we create that is.
Oh, and I will sign off with - Nice job on the tutorial. - I wonder what will be your next adventure, where you spend hours upon hours creating something else of semi-significant value?
Just Kidding
See you around, like maybe this weekend when Brent has everyone up to his cottage Saturday night.
Peace, I'm out -

If you complimented me in person . . . I would say " Thanks " or " Thank you "
- And my comment back over your rediculously long one is that if people commented with something other than saying that they like it, and think it's helpfull. Then I would probably be more inclined to say something more than "Thanks a lot" or something similar. But if someone says . . . really nice tutorial I don't really know what you expect me to say back other than thank you.
- -And yes, we most certainly do have to go and do some photography action whenever we find the time ^__^

Very nice tutorial, easy to follow with solid advice. I'm still not much of a fan of outlining, since i like the basic look and feel of a sketch, but for the coloring process, its extremely important to have clean outlines. Well done.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the sketches. I really enjoy the quality that sketchy images have to them as well, but it really just depends on what kind of a mood you are trying to set with your piece.
- It's good to hear that it's easy to follow. Thanks

It's not even been up a day and you have over 100 views...
Anyway, when you ink your lines, are you just doing them all with freehand strokes tring to match the pencil lines?

coreymill In reply to jonhavens [2006-07-11 00:06:16 +0000 UTC]
Yup yup.
- I am sure that I could just show you sometime if you wanted. But almost every line that I do for lineart is a single stroke with the brush tool. *goes back to work : ( *
