In Ally's case, Discord is the 'mother' in his and Celestia's complicated relationship, raising the girl while Celestia runs around with her whole 'Sun God' routine. And he takes this role very seriously. Here he is probably complaining about how much of a coincidence it was Canny won sports day when Rainbow was one of the judges or how Time Lapse only beat Ally in the science fair because his father did his project for him (not mentioning how Discord did Ally's for her too). Flutters is just happy to be out the house for once rip. I head canon these two would still be really close friends, cause strictly platonic Fluttercord is the shit my friend.
