Family: At the base of Demeter’s family is her half-sister Bombalurina (sharing their Burmilla mother) to whom she is extremely close despite contrasting personalities and life styles. Through Bombalurina and Macavity, Demeter is an aunt of two, Bill Bailey and Electra. She may often wish her nephew hadn’t followed in his daddy’s pawsteps and worries Electra may do the same someday and does the best to help the young queen fit in the tribe.
Demeter is the fresh young mate of Munkustrap and has so far birthed him two beautiful daughters, Sillabub and Jemima, whom she refers to affectionately as her moon children.

Personality and fears: Once like her sister, an abusive past with Macavity has left her paranoid and scared of the world, only putting true trust in her family and even then she can still be wary of them as well. Demeter is shy and reserved, rarely showing her old spunky and vigorous self. Despite the abuse suffered by her mate’s brother, she remains a kind and caring queen, the perfect partner to someday help Munkustrap lead the Jellicles.
Because of the Hidden Paw, she fears just about everything, thunder, lightning, fire, sudden noise and movement, other cats and dogs. If you name it, it’s likely she fears it to some degree.

History: Demeter started life peacefully but in her older sister’s shadow where she was happy to be, learning from the pinnacle of feline femininity. She was rarely noticed by toms their age and was oblivious to Munkustrap’s crush on her, overlooking him for Macavity. She adored the ginger tabby, he was sharp as a tack, wily and strong with a certain charm his silver counterpart lacked. Macavity was everything she wanted in a partner, there was just one little problem, her sister was already mated to him in a perfectly happy union.
At least that’s how it appeared to be a happy union until Macavity caught her alone one night and confessed his unhappiness with the other queen, suspecting her of being disloyal. Demeter hated hearing that about her sister but she held her tongue and listened to what he had to say. They spent the rest of the night discussing their hopes and dreams. Demeter fell hard for him in those late hours .
They began spending more and more time together, she became the one he confided in as his insanity started to set in and she did her best to comfort him, her love. But no amount of love and understanding could save him from the darkness inside. Call it naivety if you will, but she stayed his friend when he was at his newest low. His fits grew more frequent until at last he started to be physically abusive to his friend to the point of raping her just to put her in her place when he felt Demeter was out of line when all she wanted to do was bring her beloved back into the light.
After Macavity was banished, Demeter isolated herself for weeks on end, no one, not even Bombalurina could get close to her. However, there was one that came by her hiding place everyday with fresh kills and the kindest most understanding words she had heard in a long while. She never saw the tom’s face, but she knew from his voice it was Munksutrap. After a while, Demeter emerged from her hiding place forever changed but willing to try to let others back into her life. She became glued to Munkustrap’s side, much to the tom’s annoyance. With Macavity gone, he was the new first of the tribe and was too busy to notice Demeter was finally starting to return his feelings for her. She stayed with the stubborn fool though eventually getting asked to perform the mating dance with him, agreeing with uncertainty.
They’ve been mates for a little under a year and are happy in their union, he gives her strength to live everyday.
