Because Mewtwo is reading the book written in human language.
I don't know whether Mewtwo (of "Strikes Back") can do that or not.

うーん…どうしても凄く機嫌悪そうに見える。
まあ、人間の言葉で書いた本を読もうとしてるっていう場面なんしょうがないんですけど。
『逆襲』のミュウツーは文字が読めるのかどうかわからないっす。

Nope, Mewtwo is not good at reading human books.
I think this book is too difficult for novice readers like Mewtwo.
It is a kind of picture books for kids, though.
