Description
Here is the crew of the newest DnD adventure I'm on, DM'd by , which takes place in a post-apocalyptic country based on the USA. From left to right, there's Prettorio D'Ulfilo the Lycaean mafioso and his kid brother Julius (my characters); Bushmaster the human soldier, and Oova the Vanaran (they're monkey people).

Bushmaster: I can't seem to make heads or tails of the directions he gave in the map! They ultimately go in a circle. This can't possibly be right!

Oova: Uh, guys--

Prettorio: That's no circle, Pops. If you look here, you'll notice that one impassable passage which we passed once, from which it is required that we take this here detour. In this very complicated situation, the best path is not the most straightforward.

Julius: What does it look like? I wanna see!

Oova: Guys.

Bushmaster: That does make sense now, Prettorio, thank you.

Prettorio: Yes it does. And if you look closer at that part of the map, you can see how our friend drew this detour not along the river line, but transverse to it. It's an underground route, through what we have to navigate.

Oova: Guys.... our "friend" didn't give us the route. That path he drew is not the directions. It's a drawing of a middle finger.
