Backstory
Kit-hood moons ;
Rabbit was born in a littler of three and was known as Rabbitkit, He was the oldest. He had a little brother named Reedkit who couldn’t be more different than him and a little sister named Dewkit. He was named Rabbitkit after his ears, which were unusually larger then the other kits ear, reminded his parents of Rabbit ears. Unlike his younger siblings Rabbit was very outgoing and was always talking and asking question. At times when he was young Rabbit would wonder why his denmates Nettlekit and Featherkit would see their father all the time yet his had never popped in once, He would ask their mother but she always avoided the question so eventually the young kit stopped asking. When Rabbit was about three moons old, he and his siblings were taken out to meet someone- Who happened to be their father. Thistle. Their father was quite intimidating but Rabbit didn’t mind, ever since he met his father he adored him. Wnated him to be proud of him even at that young of a age. When they returned to camp with their mother she had told them to never, never speak of their father. So like the good kit he was he never did though there were slip ups from time to time yet cats never seemed to notice. The visits continued they always left late at night and returned early at morning, Rabbit and his kin were born close to winter- the weather kept getting colder ad colder. It was harder to see their father. Dewkit got sick.. and it was really bad. She had to go in the medicine cat den- she couldn’t even talk. His mother tried to get Reed and him to go see their father anyway but Rabbit had refused along side his brother. This was their sister and she was ill and in need of their constant attention- didn’t their mother care?. Dewkit died later that week of greencough. It took a moon before Rabbit and his little brother were ready to see their father once again. The family was still grieving and because his father was part of the family and Dewkit was his daughter he had the right to know. Rabbit was slightly taken back by his fathers lack of response, It bothered him but he never really spoke up about it though it was clear the lack of response changed his brothers point of view of their role model. The lessons began, His father would give them these lessons in fighting and hunting, He was fairly eagered about the lessons till his father started making him fight his little brother and do damage. This was his little brother... He didn’t want to hurt him plus they were only kits. Every lesson Rabbit would have to stand their and watch his father scream at Reed, It really put a dent in his joy of the lessons. He loved hat his father had to teach just not how he taught them- well how he taught Reed. One day they had this lesson, It was hunting and well a thunderstorm happened and Reed had wandered off. Rabbit heard his brother scream and tried to call out to him but his father covered his outh with his paw, He was so confused. Reed was calling for him! How could he just sit here and not go to him? but eventually Rabbit just had to accept that maybe the storm was to dangerous to go get him or this was a lesson his brother had to learn but it still felt horrible to sit there and listen. It got so bad that Rabbit had to lay down and cover his ears with his paws. After the storm had passed Rabbit ran to go get Reed and took him home without saying goodbye to his father.
Apprentice-hood moons;
When Rabbitkit turned into an apprentice, he was given a mentor named Bristlefur, he was a large tom cat with crazy long fur. He slightly scared Rabbitpaw, and for a good reason, he was full of scar's and was known as a great warrior in his clan. Questions on why he got him as a mentor questioned him. From the start Rabbitpaw knew this tom thought of him as a disappointment. While in his apprentice age, Rabbitpaw and Reedpaw had lost their mother. Rabbitpaw was heart broken, he loved his mother so much, and looked up to her for anything and everything. The lost of another family member effected both Rabbitpaw and Reedpaw, as they were not alone with each other... And their father, but they had cut off visits from him for a while. Soon Rabbitpaw healed from the death, and went on with his clan duties and training. He disliked how much his Mentor didnt believe in him. Everything he did was wrong. What was up with him? Rabbitpaw would get angered, and frustrated in training, or even when he spoke to the tom. He wished he had his father to train him instead, he gave him more appreciation to his training. As moons went by, and the death of his mentor came. His death was murder, and he was found laying dead in the streams. Everyone was shocked. Rabbitpaw was shocked as well. His mentor dead? He didnt know how to feel. He disliked the tom so much. But he still felt sorrow because inside that big mean tom was like family. Rabbitpaw was 10 moons and was soon given a new mentor. Her name was Swiftpelt. When he first saw her, he thought was beautiful, she had a beautiful white pelt with grey markings, and stunning blue eyes. You can say he had a huge crush on her when he first met her. Knowing Rabbitpaw was younger then her, he didn't care, he looked up to her, she was wise, and smart, and knew almost any answer to any questions he asked. His training stayed on agility and balance, and swift attacks. Something Rabbitpaw was good with, since he was a lean, slim tom. He wasn't build for force combat, but how Swiftpelt was training him, he was becoming a stronger warrior then before. Rabbitpaw was soon at the age 15 moons. And was soon to be given his warrior name, but his mentor had came down with green cough. Rabbitpaw was shocked, and he would always bring prey to her, trying to help her get well. But she had gone to far and passed away after his ceremony. But he would always remember her, and how much more she made him a better cat. He thanked her for everything, and she given him everything he needed to know. She meant so much to him.
Warrior-hood moons;
Rabbitpaw was now named Rabbitleap. He was full warrior and thinking of it as happiness from him.. He was just unhappy with the clan, and his life. He always remembered his mentor Swiftpelt telling him to follow his heart and never let anyone change your mind of what you think is right. And Rabbitleap knew, he didn't belong here. He didn't want to stay in this clan and he wanted to carry his journey to find his family, his other side of him, being a rouge. He thought it was right to leave. But leaving Reedwhisker? Rabbitleap would head out on a hunt with his brother, they would hunt together for one last time, before Rabbitleap would say his goodbyes. After they had caught prey, Rabbitleap would sit there silently till Reedwhisker asked what was wrong. "I don't want to stay here, I'm not happy here" He would speak to his brother calmly. Reedwhisker seemed to not take the words nicely, his ears lowered and showed confusion. "But I'm here... We're family.. All we got is each other" Rabbitleap would lower his ears and speak. “That’s not true Reed! We have them.. They are out there~ I wanna find them... I can’t keep running from who I am” Rabbitleap had stated but Jackal countered with “Were warriors!” “Were half-bloods!” Rabbitleap stated afterwards, his green gaze had burned into Jackal. He knew his brother wasn’t happy he could see it. He never understood. “Reedwhisker... brother... There's a darkness here... It surrounds us.. We send- apprentices into war like we send full grown warriors! We all know they won’t all make it, It’s madness...” Rabbitleap had paused and let out a sigh. Jackal though was left speechless “This darkness... How did it find us Reed... Have we lost our way.. Have we been consumed by these shadows and swallowed whole by the darkness... This darkness it has a name... Please don’t let it be your name” Rabbitleap had told him with sorrow filled eyes. “I’m going now... to be with our family... but I understand that side is lost to you.. but brother promise me.. you will stop running from who you are- someday..” Rabbitleap gave him the mouse he caught and left. He left the borders of the territory and went into unknown land where he would make his journey. He felt upset he left Reedwhisker. They've been together forever, and he was his only close family. But Rabbitleap knew they couldn't stay together, they were just so different, different paths had to be taken. It was how it was, and how it is.
Loner moons ;
It had been moons since Rabbitleap had left his brother, his old clan. He was now a loner, taking his journey. Rabbitleap was doing perfectly fine on his own. He was well fed and never in countered another feline... Yet.
As Rabbit napped in a tree, the tom would be awaken by a screeching sound, and a screaming cry of pain. Rabbit was terrified, it was night and the sound of it scared him. He was still young and he didnt know what it was. He would stand on the branch and look for what it was. But he would hear it again. A cry for help. It was a feline, crying for help. Leaping down from the tree, the tom would race to the sound. He would come to a complete halt as he stayed in the bushes. His eyes saw a large silhouette and a smaller white furred cat in front of it. He blinked and soon saw the larger one attempt to strike at the small feline. His heart pounding and racing. He knew if he was to do nothing, this cat was to die. But why should he help? He doesn't know this cat. And he could die from even trying to save the cat. Without thinking, the tom raced infront of the feline of the large thing. He was right in front of the -- Fox?! Terrified, and scared, the toms fur puffed up and a large hiss would echo out towards the fox. His scared self made him feel more strong. He would strike at the foxes face, drawing blood on the muzzle. Yelping, the fox would back up wiping his muzzle with his paw. He would quickly turn and yell at the cat. "Run!" The small feline would get up and dart off and Rabbitleap would follow. Being faster then the little feline, Rabbit would run beside the cat. The Fox wasnt done with them, and was now more mad then ever. Nearly being nipped at, Rabbit would know he had to do something. "Keep running, go somewhere high up!" He shouted and the fae ran off into the bushes. Rabbitleap would risk his life and turn back and pounce at the foxes face. His talons would dig deep as he heard yelps. He was doing some damage. He would leap off of the fox and puff up his fur, ready for another strike. As he saw it coming, Rabbitleap would attempt to jump on it again, but he made a mistake. The foxes teeth dug in his left/paw. Screeching out pain, the tom would try and free himself as the fox shook him. Now taking his whole body the tom would cry out in pain. He was an idiot for attempting to fight this fox. His old mentor Bristlefur always told him to never feel weak, and always fight back when needed. Even when you feel like dying. Rabbitleap would strike and soon be released from the fox. He got it right in the eyes, blinding it for a time. Rabbitleap would run, limping off to safety. He would come to a large tree where he would climb. The pain hurt but he made it. He would pant heavy as he rested on the branch. His body was full of blood and he would look beside him and see the cat. She was in the tree aswell. Cover in some small wounds. She was fully white with yellow eyes. "Are you okay!" She shouted in panic. "I'm sorry! " She started to cry. Rabbit was confused. "Its- Fine... Im okay.. Are you?" He asked.
"I think so.. You took more damage then me... I need to get you help or your going to loose alot of blood. " Rabbit calmed down and looked to the she cat. "What are you doing way out here? And why were you not running in the first place. Foxes find you as food, you could of died. " He spoke glaring.
"I- I dont know.. I thought I could take it... My mentor did! He is so strong, he said he killed a fox once, and another time chased one off! I just want to be like him.." She spoke.
Is she crazy? or just stupid. No cat can take on a fox alone. I don't believe it.
"Your mentor sounds full of lies" Rabbitleap spoke bitterly.
"Excuse me?" She glared at him. "I said your mentor is a liar. He is just a lying show off. No cat can take on a fox alone. If he did. Im sure he would be dead. And wouldnt be telling you lies. That would almost kill you! " He shouted. "Hes stupid to tell a younglin a lie, of course they will believe and try to be like them... " Rabbit grunted.
"Calling my mentor a liar!? How dare you! Hes was the greatest warrior in my clan! - " She would pause in silence and soon Rabbit would see tears.
"Hey, heyy.. Im sorry don't cry... I didnt mean it" He tried to apologize.
She would turn her head and cry. He could hear the sniffles and he would sigh. "No.. your right.. He was probably a liar.. He couldn't even save my clan from disaster" She continued to cry.
"What? What do you mean? Where's your clan?" He asked, perking to see her answer.
"My clan's gone. We were a small clan in a small area. It was like a little family.. We were just little in numbers. And they are all gone. Green cough and predators took them all away. My mentor is gone, my little brother..--- my mum.." She teared up more and Rabbitleap would flatten his ears in sorrow. "Im so sorry to hear - " Pain his in paw cause him to pause his words. "Im sorry for your lost.. I - I know the feeling of losing family. " He spoke slowly turning his head. A long silence came and soon the cat would speak. "I'm Lillypaw.. By the way." He would perk and look to her. "I'm Rabbitleap... But you can call me Rabbit" He spoke.
She would soon have a smile and leap over to his branch. "Thank you for saving me! Your a brave tom!" She would purr and rub her head on his neck. Slightly feeling tensed, Rabbit would just smile. "You're welcomed... " He spoke slowly, he was still in alot of pain.
"You're probably in alot of pain, I know some medicine cat stuff. I can help you in the morning!" She would squeak happy. "That would be great.. really thanks.. " He smiled. She was just a pundle of joy in his eyes, knowing where she came from, and her wounds. "You're strong for your size" He chuckled.
"Oh, thanks! My mentor always told me to never show weakness and to always look to the brighter side of things! And you saved me, and Im not alone... anymore! so thats a bright side of things right!" She squeaked once more and he would smile.
It was the next day, and the birds chirping caused him to wake. He went to turn to see the she cat but she was gone. Quickly getting up, he would groan in pain. Remembering the wounds. "Darn.." He would look around and see her no where. "Leaving me to bleed out aye" He muttered bitterly. But soon enough he would see her coming from below. Shouting "Goodmorning!" She cheered. "Come down!" she squeaked.
Slowly coming down he would greet her. "Okay, I got herbs for you" She smiled.
Lillypaw would start healing Rabbit. As days went by, she would care for him. Bringing him prey and always healing up his wounds. They were getting closer and closer as the days went. And soon Rabbit was fully healed. They had grown a strong bond and had left the area that the fox was in. They had wondered off to a small area of a forest which was in the middle of a large field. Streams were near by for him to fish in. And it was nice. Rabbit wasn't alone, and either was she. Moons past and Rabbit looked to her one night and said. "I think you deserve your warrior name..." He smiled. "Really! I wish I could get mine, and have a ceremony with my family and friends.. and mentor..." She looked down and Rabbit frowned but gave her a lick on the cheek. "What if I gave you a ceremony, just us.. knowing we are clanless But that doesnt mean you dont deserve it. " HE spoke softly. Lillypaw would smile and speak. "Well Rabbit, what would my name be?" She looked up at him.
"Hm.. He would look to the distance and see a stream. "Lillystream,, its beautiful at night and the stars make it shine under the moon. " He spoke with a smile. "Lillystream.. I like that!" She squeaked.
"You're finally a warrior!" He cheered and nudged her. "I am! " She cheered as well.
Moons past and the two continued to stick together. Rabbit was soon falling for her, and loved her dearly. He wanted them to be together forever, and have a family, but he didn't know if she thought the same.
One night Rabbit was snoozing next to her, and Lillystream had left in the early morning for prey. Something she did all the time.
Rabbit would wake and think nothing of it. She must be out hunting. So he waited. And waited. But she never returned. It was now getting late and Rabbit was now worried. He went out and searched for her but couldn't find her. She was no where to be seen. He went on calling for her till he paused and saw a trail of blood and white fluffs of fur. His heart pounded as he sniffed the fur. It was her scent.. He was terrified to make more steps, he didn't want to see her dead... Not another...
Rabbit started to run. He followed and soon came to a halt. He couldn't feel his heart. The sight was horrifying. Her body, her fur everywhere. Blood.
She was dead.
Tears streamed down his face as he saw his friend, the one he loved, dead. Torn apart. Why him? Why does everyone die. Rabbit couldn't handle the sight so he bolted. He left the area and never returned. He felt torn. Broken. He felt cold. He lost everything he loved.
---
After Lillystream's death, the tom had went back on his journey to find his family. He hadn't found them. But he was in hopes to.
