Description Mandalorian star sniper Ram Zerimar, his armor working as camo in an eerie forest.

Just some fun photomanip I've done for the great Ray Ramirez, and for all Mando fans out there.

Unlike my other Mando images, this has nothing to do with my fanfiction, although Ram Zerimar, Ray's character, does have a few cameos in my Rage of the Shadow Warriors.

===============
- Ram Zerimar is a Star Wars EU character, based on US sniper Ray Ramirez , photos taken on CIV by MaulMaus and used with permission
- The background image is a stock by ~StockCity : [link]

Now, bow to the awesomeness of Ray's award-winning (on CIV at least^^) custom Mandalorian armor of Ram Zerimar.

Holy........ Man, that armor is the best I've seen, it ACTUALLY looks like armor instead of pieces of plastic o.O Ray did a great job at that armor, and you most certainly have done it justice with the picture and photomanipulation.

This looks epic! Straight out of old school star wars, it wouldn't look out of place in the original movies!
I hope to make my own custom Mando armour someday

Does the chest armour impare your movement at all? Can you put your arms straight in front of you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CorranFett In reply to LittleFoxStudio [2009-05-30 17:58:45 +0000 UTC]

I'm afraid I can't answer that, as that's not me in armor there, and I've never worn one.

You'd have to ask Ray Ramirez. But I guess that with the plates fastened to a flak vest, it wouldn't much restrict the movement of your arms.

It's not my armor, I just put a fan's custom armor into my photomanip.

Check TheDentedHelmet.com or [link] , two Mando customing communities for tutorials on how to build one.

So you're pretty much crazy about Boba Fett, right? I like the little hand print, it makes me think that it's his kid's...like a reminder? maybe not.

Not so much Boba Fett, more Mandalorians in general. And yes, that's his kid's hand imprint, both in universe and out of universe. Here you can find more on Ram Zerimar: [link]

Wow...again, beautiful light here--really superb and very natual. You have a very "wicktone eye" for using light, if you get my drift--most excellent! Love the environment, and the way the Mandos seem to fit right into it.

Most impressive!

CorranFett In reply to FalconFan [2007-06-24 15:23:41 +0000 UTC]

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the "wicktone eye" - yes, I remember his astounding paintings, but he did all from scratch and created all the great ambience by himself. When I get a source image or a lineart, most of the times, these already have a given direction where the lightning comes from, and I just have to do my best to find a background/source image that fits to that (or, in case of colorings, I have to put my lights and shadows according to the lineart). Once I figured the best way out, blending a cutout with another (background) image isn't really that much of a deal.

Another big thanks, though.

FalconFan In reply to CorranFett [2007-06-24 16:17:36 +0000 UTC]

Well--a "wicktone eye" just means that your ability to see and render the quality of light, the shadows and contrasts is exceptional--not all artists, digital or traditional, can do that, and it's a gift you have! Going from the lineart gives you a general direction for the sourcelight, and maybe some idea of the sharpness of it--but rendering that light in colors is the skill at which you excel! Wonderful work!

I've really liked these latest photomanips - you're really good at them - but this one, in particular, is quite nicely done. Impressive!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CorranFett In reply to AdamWithers [2007-06-15 21:10:43 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot!

I've noticed myself that even in these three last manips, I have already figured out a more fluid way for cut-outs and then this kind of "merging" with a background. I'm quite content with the results myself, but I think a good deal pays the fact that I adjusted the background colors so it kinda matched Ray's color scheme.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamWithers In reply to CorranFett [2007-06-22 17:21:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's really quite smooth. I've got an eye for this stuff, but I'd bet most people wouldn't realize it was a manip if you didn't tell them. Awesome work!

In the SWRPG campaign I'm running, one of the players declared himself Mandalore, and now some fragmented Mando clans are drawing together to challenge him - your work is giving me a lot of neat ideas.
