This project was cursed.
I'm just gonna say that right off the bat.

The material I based it off of was cursed, the attempted speed-painted I tried to do so I could rant verbally failed (twice!), the images I had to dredge up from the bad side of youtube were cursed, the audio I tried to record was cursed, the video I tried to record was cursed, just everything was bad.
Basically, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.

First, I tried to record the speedpaint, it failed several times, but I got it to work after the first half hour. Then, I had trouble downloading video software onto my laptop, and for some reason the program I was using decided to delete half my video (yay!). Then, I tried to record, and it was just really really bad sound quality (I'm stuck in the basement with all the weird house noises down there, and that was my only opportunity to record since the guys working on the house weren't going to be there that day and they're loud. ) Then, it turns out the software I was using (audacity), for some reason did NOT like my laptop and would not load, and when it did, it wouldn't let me edit the audio. Thanks. Then, I tried to export the video directly from Ibis Paint, but that ended up being so low resolution that it physically hurt me. So after like seriously 2 freaking weeks on this I gave up, and I'm posting it now.

Anyway, this is a redraw of a screenshot from the Terraria Animated Series on Youtube. (It's bad, don't check it out)
You might've caught on that I love Terraria at this point. And so when my brother said he had something cursed to show me about Terraria, I figured it was one of those meme things, not whatever the heck this was.
It's a "story" told about Terraia made by the same guys who made Villager News for Minecraft. So funny then, right? NO. NO NO NO. I mean yes, but not in the right ways.
Basically, the really bad Calamity Mod fanfic I've been constructing in my head while playing has better plot, characters, etc than this. And certainly better animation.
Just for context when I said bad animation, I've accidentally been subjected to fetish animations here on DA with better quality. YOU DON'T WANNA BE THAT LOW.

It's bad.
As someone who loves these characters, it's just, it's hard for me to watch this series.
To get an idea of why it's so bad, here's a list of highlights:

Sans is there for some reason
Slimes have teeth now
And so does the Demolitionist NPC, lots of teeth
Low Poly-budget Squidward Nerd
Bad Shakespearean Guide (and an attempt at a British(?) accent)
Joker 2019
The Protagonist has Cheese Armour
Bunnies spit acid now. (not something that can happen in game)

I couldn't find a clip cause I'm actually not wearing headphones rn and I'm not cursing my whole house with the noise of this thing, but the Goblin Tinkerer's voice, is just bad.
Also couldn't find the clip, but they didn't even check the wiki, cause both the Guide and the Mechanic refer to the Goblin as Xenon, which is not a name he can have
Domestic Spider Abuse (just watch the clip, it's bad)
Also, after the illegal acid bunnies burn off his armour, the Main Dude chooses to run around naked, despite having Cheese Armour in his inventory still.
OH JEEZE THIS. I think it's meant to be the Tavernkeep.
The Witch Doctor is missing his tail (which is actually why I forgot it in the intial sketch, which you would've seen had the video not nuked itself)
And finally, the clown can talk.

So as a Terraria fan, I had to make this right. But I can't animate. But what i can do, is redraw a screenshot. So I chose a random one, with as many characters as I could find in a single shot, and went at it.
One of the first major changes you'll notice, is that the original picture is blue tinted, but mine is red. That's because it takes place in an in-game event called a blood-moon. This tints the entire screen red, so I went for a red lighting, which kinda sucked on the Pirate, ngl, but we're here now. I spent 7 hours redrawing this sucker, I aint changing a thing.
The next major change is that Main Dude is gone. That's because I hated Main Dude in the series, and he's an absolute butt, so I replaced him with my character I'm playing on my Calamity Mod file, her name is Lya.
I also changed the armour, because in the animated series, he's wearing Shadow Scale armour, now for non-Terraria players, that's really early game gear. He's hardmode now, which means that he shouldn't have that gear. So I gave Lya cobalt armour instead, cause it's early Hardmode (where we're at), and the blue will still make a purple color when shaded with red. So win-win.
The other changes were mostly minor.
I added in a moon, cause it just looked better, I added some Dribbler enemies in the background to make it more filled out
I did more dynamic lighting
I changed the character's outfits a lot.
And then the Witch Doctor, look, he's my favorite NPC in game, so what they did to him in this series makes me sad, they simplified him so much that it's pathetic, and didn't even let him speak coherent words. I know my version isn't great, but it looks better than theirs, and that's the goal.
I also gave the Demolitionist the lantern from in-game, and the Witch Doctor his staff from In-game. I just thought it looked nicer.
I also adjusted poses, like making the Guide more dynamic and opening his eyes, making the Pirate holding a sword rather than it's his arm, and just yeah.

I guess this series makes me mad because it's so lazy, so messed up, and just so bad, when Terraria is such a cool game, and has so much cool talent in it as well.

I mean, just look at the talent in those pieces, they're beautiful, and fantastic. And it just makes me sad that this animation was just so bad. Because as far as animations for games go, Terraria is one that has some of the most potential in my opinion, and they just ruined it.
I hope I was able to fix it enough to get a glimpse into maybe what could've been if they'd tried. I know mine's not great, there's a lot of issues (don't look at the feet please), but it's better than their's, and that's something.
I love this game, and like I said, I spent 7hours trying to make this look decent.

Anyway, sorry for the really really really long rant, I've had this on my mind for like 3 weeks now.
Also fun fact though, this file on my tablet is titled, "Load Bearing Coconut" cause the title I wanted (here's title) was too long.

Since there's no speedpaint/rant for this, have my process instead, hope you guys like it.
