He kept those memories close to his heart, when he was young, a pup, playing and laughing with his older brother.His brother, who had of a father to him than his real one could ever have been.
All of that was gone now. Only corruption remains.

Uhh..I don't have much to say, for once! I'm really happy with it. <333 First time I ever tried to make something that looked burnt!
Also I learned that Avian heads are a ~lot~ trickier to draw than they look. ΰ² 3ΰ² ; So...so smooth.
The only thing I wasn't...that sure about, was Drej's tail when he was young. o_o I didn't know if he'd have that much power stored in it yet (and so, not as fat), so I didn't draw it as big as it was on his adult ref sheet.
....Also what I thought was interesting is that apparently he had the amsk spine going on while he was little, too. o_o!
Though I think I might have messed it up. I dunno. I got confused. The ref says in front of the wings, and the young picture has it between the wings, so I went with that. ;_;
Avians (and these characters, Exiel and Drejrael) belong to =kilara !

This is really cute, I love the warm expressions here. The composition and background are pretty cool, and you did a fantastic job with the burned edges. Beautiful! Everything here fits together so nicely.

I am IN LOVE with this picture, oh my god. The color scheme is the best thing in the world, it's like the perfect blend - like a cool overtone with little places of warmth. The posing of the little avian is adorable, it looks like such a genuine scene.
Also your coloring style in general is getting like... orgasmically good. Seriously. ;o; I LOVE the way you shade and highlight now, and how you've worked on coloring things without bold line art. I loooove it.

I thought it was kinda weird looking at first, but the more I blend the lineart in, the more I like it. XDD Now if only I could add really, really detailed backgrounds and stuff into it..! o_o

this is fantastic! the highlights are spot on, and the burnt edges make a great boarder.
I was wondering what it would look like with a little desaturation and a warmer hue to make it look like an old photograph. maybe overlay a crease in the corner... (thinking out loud)
amazing job though. the whole thing just fits together. Makes me feel all fuzzy inside :3

You know! Actually I think I meant to do that, but by the time I got to the border, I either...forgot or liked the regular version too much. XDD Thanks for the ideas! I tried messing around a little bit with it here: [link] and added some noise to it too, Buuut..I dunno. I think I still kind of like the DA version better. o3o What do you think?

I agree, the one up here is better. The noise dulls the bold edges which make it look so striking, especially around the big guy. It does however look a lot warmer.
