The other day I bound several old pads of paper into sketchbooks using a tutorial - Originally I was going to cover them with stickers as per the usual sketchbook process, but this material* was so tempting I decided to draw on this one instead! It's all posca paint markers and is almost entirely metallic gold color, except for the lines, vines, and the boar. It looks SUPER cool IRL! I'm really happy with it. It reminds me of a woodcut or something but like, super shiny. The boar itself also turned out super cute C:
*I'm not sure what exactly this is. Its like a really hard board but made out of paper...paper...board....?
This particular sketchbook turned out to be 9"x 6", strathmore 300 smooth bristol. It was a full pad so if I draw on the front AND the backs of each page I guess that makes it 80 pages? Sketchbook DIY ended up being much easier than expected. It was a fun activity. I have so much freaking paper already but I can definitely see myself in the future buying bigger, fancy paper for the express purpose of making more custom books
