Description yay for fake japanese prints! a random idea that i thought someone would like.
im pretty impressed by how some of this came out, but im still not sure about it so i saved a couple copies of it in various states. I'd Really love to hear criticisms/comments/suggestions for this one, it would really help me feel like ive either finished it or how i should finish it.

Wow, I really like this, and it is very different than the rest of your gallery.

Maybe you should put some japanese letters in one of the corners. Maybe one that stands for surprise or silent, something describing the fox. Those usually give the picture a good effect. ^_^ Glad I could help.

Nice. I really like the twig in the crow's beak. The crow looks like hes looking in the direction the fox jumped from thinking 'I heard a noise from over there...'. It looks finished, but to me the angle of the fox's paws make it look like he might miss the crow.

maybe add a small line in the far background as a ground? Not under the fox, but on the horizon? like a plain maybe?? --so the fox doesn't look like he's jumping from the sky/looks like he's floating? this might also help the crow look smaller than the fox. other than that, it's really pretty!

I love the movement of the fox. Crow is a bit big compared to him. They also don't usually use such vibrant colors in Japanese woodblocks. But I love it muchly.

hmm.. you know i had played with the color of the fox a bit, and originaly it was toned down. then i made i ba whole lot brighter, then toned it down again... i did that for a bit. yeah, toning it down would definently make it more authenticish. hmm...

very cool idea and very nice use of color. i think that what's needed is some eyes for the fox and the crow (that sounds like a parable or something). as cheesy as it sounds, eyes give something life.

wow, this is awsome, I love the floating world style of japanese art. hehe, you could have put a little bit of grass under the fox, to make it look like it's talking. that would be truer to the style. But everyone has his own ideas

heh thanks! hmm, grass under the fox... well the thing is that the fox is actually in mid-jump, though i might want to suggest some kind of shadow undernieth it to clarify that

adding the shadow would have taken away from the piece actually LOL

no no, I saw that, it makes sense in a piece that is more realistic. But traditional floating world art the world is presented in the way you did, but it's as if the ground is stretched out. It's sort of a contradiction of perspectives. Your style looks good too, I just wanted to explain what the traditionalists do.
