Description schrodinger in some kindof experimental tube. this has been sitting on my desktop for the better half of 2 months, so i figured i should finish it.
*sigh* ive been so reluctant to draw schrodinger lately because im afraid that im becoming one of those artists on DA that does NOTHING but focus on thier one character, and what he thinks, eats, sleeps, favorite color, ect. its making me worry because i feel that i should be creating a plethera (booya! bonus points for the word plethera) of ideas and characters, and doing work that actually communicates something more.... jeeze i dont know. sadly the combonation of geomancer, art classes and my own need to do stuff is sapping the deepest creative wells i have to offer. how many ideas can one person have? eh.. anyway, im ranting again...
anyway, i feel that this should have looked better, but im tired. so very tired.
maybe i should take a day off to just visit the museum for some inspiration.... hmm...

wait... what the hell, im a comic artist... i should actually sit down and do a real and polished comic, not long, but real.

Awww, come on. Stop kicking yourself. You can draw A lot better than i can. I can draw yes, but It takes me a long time to actually detail things. I mean, all of the drawing on my DA profile aren't colored, or really that detailed. I gotta work on that. But there's nothing wrong with drawing the same thing. i used to be the same way too. In fact, i still kind of do. But there's nothing wrong with it.

Don't worry *Lalala* Be happy....^_^

but..... plethora is spelled with an "o"...

cool digs though - so your spelling is forgiven. ^_~ my only real critique would be in the construction of the face. i'll have to go back through the rest of your gallery to be certain, but it seems that Schrödinger is lacking a lower jaw. i'd like to see a version of this posterized in photoshop (maybe at a value of 8 or 10) to bring out the varying contrasts without blending - might lend an even harder edge to the graphic.

maybe darkening the glass would allow even more significance to the name Schrödinger: the whole paradox of the theoretical Cat himself. nice work, corvid... going to check out your gallery now. ^_^

by the way.... how you get those umlaauts on the o's? it would be nice to know that for future reference.

umlauts are easy:

ä = ALT+0228
ë = ALT+0235
ï = ALT+0239
ö = ALT+0246
ü = ALT+0252

for windows machines, you can always reference the character map for a list (use Arial as a default, but check for strange fonts as there may be no character created for the ALT switch).

and for the other reply (for the sake of saving space and server time), if you posterize in PS then save for web as JPG your filesize increase should be negligable. also, if you have any of the macromedia tools, there are good file management bits in there. ^_^ keep up the good work, man. oh, and i thought that referencing some of the old physics journals on Schrödinger's Cat might do you a solid on your story - check out as much google'd ref as possible, and i'm sure you'll find some cool digs.

thanks for the critique, i need to work on getting more contrast in my stuff, and ive been struggling with getting small details colored in photoshop... hmmm posterizing at 8 or 9... interesting. that would make it a pretty big file though...

but yes, he is missing his lower jaw... you know, im not really sure why. i think i made that part of his character design to make him look more undead. schrodinger really is a paradox, so ive been struggling with coming up with a story for the comic i want to make for him.

I draw Wiled way too much too, and on DA people probably associate him with me more than anything else. I don't think it's a problem. I go through phases of drawing particular characters, so i'm just living through one right now. Besides, the Shrod-meister rocks

I don't think there's anything wrong with you drawing Schrodinger so much. Obviously he is a character that you've well tuned and is as one would say, your known "avatar". As long as you believe you have a story for him you wish to show everyone, then I think continuing to draw him as much as you do is nessecary.
-However- because you apparentlywish to tackle more, you are at least then aware, and should of course put focus into such. Even famous comic artists do fan art and expand beyond what got them started/famous; everything is practice. While you say a lack of creativity is partial problem; my advice is simply to take your time with things and create as you go, with more and new to come. Admittingly, I became interested in your artwork because of Schro, but I see you have a lot of potential with your ideas and artwork. Best thing is to keep at it-- the mind is limitless; it all matters on how many ideas you can round up and craft into reality.

As for the drawing, I've always liked how you've been able to wield certain "dark" but sharp colors, wrapping over another. Creates the right mood; looming with questions. The details in the wet fur and mechanical tubing attracts outside of the colors as well. Another job well done if you ask me.

thanks steph! thats really what i needed. ive been doing so much drawing for classes and for the GBA project that i really should look at Schrodigner as my own project to focus on. as long as im aware that what im doing is for a personal project, not for approval, ill feel better about it. i post so much on DA that really serves no purpose, except to show that im not dead. i need to work on FINSIHING a polished story and comic.
would you beleve that ive tried 5 or 6 times to start a S/P comic, but felt that it was sub par, so i moved on? its true. but now that ive wound schrodinger up, i should set him loose.

Oh wow! That's really good, I just love the whole feel to it, with the green and all
I like all the small details too, like the green slimy test-tune stuff under the tubes Great job! You get the thumbs up!

Nicely done, I love the amounts of detail that you have put into this especially the mask that he has on his face. And the dark shading only adds to the mood as well.
