I wanted a more realistic looking result. I'm not up on HDR or how to do it but this came out looking like it might be. It's a double process of a RAW file and then I tweaked the outcome a little further. Took me about 45 minutes (but then, I was watching 'House' while doing this and was distracted

It was the brighty lit, well saturated and contrasty appearance that drew me to click on the thumbnail. I think 'real' HDR which seems to involve stacking 'layers' of different tweaks at different opacities is too often 'overdone' or 'cooked to death'.
This is the kind of thing I have been known to do to other people's photographs! On some of my own the 'enhancements' go way beyond mere HDR:
a 'mild example' of slide or colour transparency photo recovery.
another unofficial 'collaboration.
All stops pulled out.
and this is just getting ridiculous!

I am John! I haven't been on DA much lately - I seem to have fallen head over heels for G+ these days - but I try to check in here once in a while! I hope you are doing well also!

Well, some folks like different places so I don't fault you for that As long as you check in every so often that is
I'm doing alright

Thank you It was a fun challenge and was amazed by writing down everything I did how much editing can go into something like this

I too forget when I edit, for I simply 'feel' the process without taking notes
Great work!!

Thanks, brother! I can see things that I could have done a little better--I should have taken more time with it really but that's what the challenge is for I thought about replacing the sky with one of my own but I also wanted to keep the original sky and I felt this was an editing challenge and not a manipulation challenge, you know?
Anyway, thanks for posting the shot and letting me play a bit. I'm glad you like the result
