It's basically a top-down pixel-art beat-em up taken to the max. The first game takes place in Miami, Florida in 1989, where you play as an unnamed vigilante (that the fanbase calls Jacket by his signature letterman jacket) who receives cryptic phone calls to essentially kill Russian mobsters for pay. You pick up whatever weapons you can find to slaughter everyone you meet; Anything from lead pipes and crowbars to shotguns and submachine guns. You have to be careful, however, as you cannot take a single hit: you get hit, you die. Before each level, you can choose one from a variety of rubber animal masks you can wear that give you varying abilities as well. The story itself is very mysterious and vague, but it honestly just adds to the appeal.
Anyway, be sure to check it out when you get the chance. The second game is coming soon, so be sure check it out too. Fair warning, the game is obviously violent, so if you're squeamish, be careful.
