Description
Commission forI'll be honest, I'm not perfectly happy with this one. I'm in a weird phase where I'm struggling to finish art, even if I started ages ago. Adding to that, I'm beginning to really dislike how I colour things for some reason. I really like how my sketch and lineart turn out, the base colours are ok, but as soon as I get into the shading and background it all goes downhill for me and I have no clue what to do about it. I've noticed that I've started liking my art more when it's with a limited colour palette too. Maybe I could draw something with my usual sketch and lineart style, but only use minimal colours for the character and background, and also have minimal shading? We'll see.

I love this piece!
Also, I agree with both @/spaceiix and @/A-Yeen-In-Space told you. Maybe experimenting could be the best idea, along with your idea of using limited palettes. And maybe you could also do some headcanons. When I'm frustraded I use to think about certain characters of mine and even if most of times, the headcanons I come up with are funny/stupid (like one of my characters always falling of the bed because she's a doofus) they always free my mind and I'm ready to start drawing again.
I'm not good with words, but I hope this helps, my self esteem went a bit down recently but I wanna help people in order to feel better qwq
Or at least try to help ^^''

Thanks!
Headcannons sound interesting, but I don't really know what could fit my characters. Usually, when I start trying to develop them or get one good idea, I suddenly latch on to it and go crazy with it until it goes a bit out of control (and this is when I create completely new characters for the first character to interact with), and instead of clearing my mind, everything is filled up by it. I end up wasting a lot of time just thinking about my characters and nothing gets done. Thanks for the suggestion though! I think I'll stick to experimenting for now so I can at least finish art like I've been struggling to do lately.

It would be hard to stop yourself from creating more and more characters I see.
Try to think about some simple headcanons
like I dunno... (this is an example) "Khono loves the smell of lavender"
Nothing too complex, (like their whole existance lol)
Though, the experimenting idea is a good idea ^^

Maybe. It'll take some time. Thanks for the suggestion!
You know, I think Khono would like the smell of lavender...

Like @/A-Yeen-In-Space said, it's a good idea to do some test drawings and try different types of shading. I've been dealing with the same problem, and I don't really have any good tips except; mess around a bit with shading, like go completely wild. if you see something you like that you had done during the test drawings, you could keep doing it !!
In my opinion though, your art is magnificent as always!!

Thank you! I don't think I'm going to go too crazy with the shading. Lately I've been really liking art with minimal shading, so I might try something like that. So the shading and colours don't take away from my lineart. Just not worry about it too much.

I did think that is a good idea. Perhaps do like a test drawing to see the outcome of the drawing to maybe see if its better?. The only other thing that came to mind was tutorials or just looking at other types of shading.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will do a test drawing with one of my characters. Any ideas for a prompt, theme or character?

Perhaps something for these two love birds? Have some more Pinny . Maybe sometime of romantic outing like walking in the woods. Or just sitting under a tree. And if not then you could try something with your Fursona Khono . Since she's a wing wolf she could be flying through day or night with beautiful lighting and shading. I'm not really sure on what else to suggest.
There is this drawing I did in a Art trade that could try and concept with. Limbo's Dream Scape , Dreams are mysterious and crazy in ways. I find them easy to work with since aha sometimes they can be random or represent feelings that you might have. Like a memory of someone you miss or love.
Oof I'm rambling sorry bout that

Sounds good! I'll try to think of something for Paint and Finny, but if I can't think of anything good enough I'll do something for Khono (or even Quill, since I haven't drawn him in a while). Dreams sound interesting, so I'll probably draw the character 'floating' or something like that. Thanks for the ideas! <3
It's ok I don't mind ^-^
