For some reason Shankas always made me laugh, even as there was absolutely no reason for it to be so. It definitely had to do with Abercrombie's blissful, ridiculously funny humor disposition. I love this series <3

Like the Shankas. Exactly how I imagined them. REALLY Exactly Much better than in the graphic novel.  Great work with the colors and lightings.

Haha, thanks! I just caught the graphic novel recently and felt the same - they made Logen way too pretty!

Awesome interpretation of the opening scene! This is the best fan art for this series that I have come across.

I am looking forward to his new book that is being released in November. I love Cosca! I hope he brings in some of the other characters from the trilogy though. I would love to see a return of Glokta, or even a brooding Jezal would be be great.

Holy wow! This is amazing work - really brings out the grit and blood of the First Law world. I especially like your interpretation of the Shanka.

Love the brushy textures dude and it adds to the energy coming from the scene and the poses you've chosen to place the characters in. Annnnnd your command over light and shadow in this piece is superb - well done sir, you rule... again!! haha.

where did the choice come from to use that book and that scene?

We had to choose a passage out of a book to illustrate. I didnt realise until I got there, so hopped on Amazon and luckily the sample chapter for The Blade Itself worked for me
