OK, this is my 2nd attempt at painting. It was a disaster from the start, with me not bothering to plan it all out, I didn't realise that I had done the eyes too large and too high up on the canvas.This was done really quickly for me in about 35 hours and I think it shows. I will never like this painting but I've learned many things which is a good thing! Comments are welcome, but nothing too harsh please.
About 10 inches squarish, sorry about the photo quality, I just couldn't get the camera to behave. The right eye rim has detail this doesn't show!

35 hours is quick? That's my average time on paintings this size or similar. Come on, you really underestimate yourself. This is gorgeous! I love many things about this, though the best is the way you've made the swirly type look to the fur. I haven't seen that before, it has a wavy look but still looks realistic. You carried it into the tree too so it all goes together. The eyes may not be perfect but I'm loving the fur on the head, the cute chin and layering stripes. The composition looks strong and balanced to me, I'm glad you had the eyes higher up. I'm not sure how you got that wavy look to it, but you MUST do it again. I love the way that looks, it's like impressionism but you used it so precisely that it adds detail and exactness. Beautiful work, be proud of it! And paint some more!

I'm slowly painting a snowy forest, my first landscape. It really is a slow process, I'm lucky to get a few hours in a week, thanks to a teething 14 month old daughter and home educating her older sister. But its good to paint a little, much better than not painting at all

Slow and steady wins the race! Sometimes I can't get to the easel either, with distractions from the farm. You definitely have plenty of duties so use paint time as relax time. And be proud of what you create!

Red kite frenzy last week. I think someone put meat out for them because there were about ten of them swooping down into the road in front of our house. The shrubs were in the way so I couldn't see what they were grabbing. I watched them while making bacon sarnies

I started another tiger painting about 8 months ago, when I was about 5 months pregnant but then I got too big in the bump department to continue and then too tired when our baby was born. Our daughter is about 4 months old now, so I'm hoping to find time to finish it off soon
