Description
It wasn’t until the sun had began to set that Ruby had realized how long she had been flying. She had always felt much more freedom when she was flying in the air, but, as the phrase goes, time flies when you’re having fun.
The young bat glanced down at the ground below in an attempt to find a trail back home...and found only an unrecognizable patch of forest beneath her, with the city she came from far off in the horizon. “...oh, jeez...how long was I out here?” Ruby muttered to herself, her eyes widened in surprise.

But there was little time to ponder such things, as Ruby’s wings were quickly growing tired from all the flying she had done. She gently flew down to the trees beneath her, landing on a branch in an attempt to gain a brief moment of respite so she could get to flying again.
She didn’t expect the branch to snap.

The bat let out a cry as she tumbled down, flailing about as she tried to stabilize herself with her wings. But she was falling too quickly, and soon crashed into the ground. Fortunately, it wasn’t a particularly large fall, so nothing was exactly broken; however, she was fairly sure her body was bruised up now, especially the wing she had landed on. Until it stopped hurting, she probably wouldn’t be flying anytime soon…

“Aww, come on...oww…” Ruby muttered, pushing herself up. If she couldn’t fly, her options were rather limited; she’d either have to walk all the way back to Blumberg - an unlikely feat considering how exhausted she was already - or find some form of natural shelter in the forest.
“...well...let’s start looking, I guess…” She told herself, beginning the trek through the forest.

It wasn’t long before the young girl found a cave not far from where she had landed, but the sun had already set by then. If it weren’t for her natural night vision, she would have probably had to sleep outside, in the thunderstorm that had begun while she had been walking.
Entering the cave, Ruby found it to be surprisingly spacious inside, with rocks and scattered cobwebs being the only occupant aside from her. It didn’t seem like the most comfortable place to spend the night in the world, but she’d have to make do.
Ruby sat against the cold rock wall, shaking the rainwater off her fur as she took her phone out her pocket. She had been hoping to call someone, tell them what was up...but, unfortunately, no service. That was to be expected given the thick layers of stone surrounding her...and with the storm outside, she wasn’t about to gamble her life away for a quick call.

Ruby let out a sigh, her phone reentering her pocket as she laid down on the floor. It was cold, uncomfortable, and nowhere near what she was used to, but her exhaustion combined with the sound of the growing rainfall outside the cave helped lull her into a deep slumber.

It didn’t take long for Ruby to feel the tight silk wrapped around her body as she awoke. She tried to stretch, and found it pinning her arms tightly to her chest, with her legs bound together and her muzzle held shut with the same material. Something, presumably the same silk, had also been wrapped over her eyes, preventing her from seeing where she was.

“Ghh...nht hghhn…” Ruby sighed, wiggling in her bindings. This hadn’t been the first time she woke up bound and gagged...and knowing her luck, it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
“Hmllh? Hnnhnm thmrm?” She called out to the best of her ability.

“Good morning.” A sultry feminine voice greeted her.
“About time you woke up, dear. We’ve been waiting for you for a while now.”

“Hnd...whh hrm yhh?” Ruby sighed, rolling her eyes.

“You may call me Ashara.” The voice said, almost too dramatically.
“Most of my kind would not understand you. But over time, with each and every victim like you, I learned your language, and my fellow spiders crowned me queen of our colony.”

Ruby...honestly didn’t care about how this “Ashara” knew how to talk or whatever, but some of the things she said raised a few flags. The way she mentioned victims indicated there are - or...were - more like her, and she didn’t exactly feel comfortable being the captive of a group of spiders who hardly even knew how to talk.

“...whht dh yhh whnt whth mm?” Ruby asked, wiggling a bit in her webbings as she began to grow nervous.

“Good question” Ashara replied, a sinister tone in her voice.
“You see...we spiders are having a bit of a...population issue, you might say. I am...not in a proper state to produce more children. So, here’s what we want with you; you will bear the children of our males across the colony, regardless of your say-so. And if it just so happens that you are unable to bear these children, or something should happen to you that renders you unable to do such, or you choose to no longer comply, you will supply our colony with another much-needed resource. Food.”

Ruby froze, needing a moment to process all of that. They were going to use her as a...baby factory?! And if she couldn’t actually have their babies, or said no...they’d eat her?!
“N...nhh!! Yhh chnt dh thhs!!!” She screamed, thrashing violently in the thick cocoon she had been bound in.

"Oh, I'm afraid we can. We have a way of life to uphold after all." Ashara laughed, the click of her legs resounding through the cavern as she made to leave.
"I'll allow you to come to terms with your new life. Then I'll allow one of the males to come and inspect you. Welcome to your new life, my dear."

Ashara laughed as she strode off, leaving Ruby to squirm and shout.
