Description
I saw Rise of the Guardians last week, and oh my gosh, I had to get started on this right away.I plan to Cosplay Jack Frost for one of the days of Ichibancon in Charlotte NC.
I couldn't find a good method to paint his hoodie, so I came up with my own. I also plan to add glitter nailpolish (not mentioned in the tutorial, due to the fact I have yet to test it) over some of the frost areas to help add that extra sparkle.
This is my first tutorial, and it's a fairly simple concept. Hopefully it can encourage you all to try it, because I know I tend to get scared when I put paint to a garment I don't want to ruin. Also, this costume should be done at the end of December, only due to the fact that the wig I want is on backorder (they assure me it should be in my possession before the first weekend of Ichi, if not, then oh well!) and things like that. At least I can finish the outfit and staff (which will get started next week once I get home!

I would prefer to use Fabric paint, however, I am a college student on a budget. Any cosplay I am working on is being done in my dorm room with limited supplies.
I also beleive the fabric paint wouldn't absorb as much as the acrylic does. The paint I am using becomes more faded as it dries (which is actually beneficially in my current design, but still).

Well, I am also a not-so-rich student :b I just bought some big flasks of the primary colors in fabric paint, and then I use those for EVERYTHING! It's really a cheap method, as you then only have to buy paint very rarely (once every second/third year even though I'm productive)
it's true that the fabric paint won't be as absorbed in the fabric, which in this case is beneficially, yes, but otherwise, it can save you some paint to use the fabric paint, as you have to use less
