uhhh well I've actually had the name Ghoul for a while now hehe same with a few others

 I would say use this to find out what names aren't taken yet, just hit ctrl and f and then type in names to see if its been taken and look through the comments to see for others ( sometimes the list is slow to be updated)

I know about the name list thank you. However, Ghoul was one of the few other names that I got really interested with lol. Especially after I finished watching Tokyo Ghoul -anime I was more into the decision but whatever. I will think something else quite easily.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you would take offense to that. They share the same color scheme and ear color, perhaps not the exact same green, but very similar. Sorry...

Pst! None of the artist like that their characters would be compared for someone's character. Not even if they would have the same colors, markings, etc. Heck! If they would look like twins it is rude to let out a comment like this (of course if the character isn't stolen and redesigned but that is another story). But indeed, please think carefully when submitting an comment like this especially if you don't know the artist.

You can use your head on this one too. If in the description has mentioned that the character has a twin it is ok to mention as long as the comment is positive.

I figured saying that this MTT looked like another MTT I like, which has a pretty design and very similar palette of colors and partially similar markings would be a compliment.  

That's like me going up to an oil painter who is going for a realistic view and saying "Hey, that painting is so cool, it's like Rembrandt good" and they're like "I don't like you calling my art good". I honestly don't understand why they're upset. If you want to make comparisons to my characters, I don't mind unless it's something supposed to be mean Or something vengeful.  

As far as the twin thing goes, I wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth, cause I'm bound to screw up again with trying to compliment someone, but making them mad instead. I guess I don't know how to compliment people :/ 

I figured my comment was positive. I'm not saying their art is like mine, cause I know mine sucks, but Toxin and Ghoul both have a white base, black and bright green marks and ears. I dunno, I thought that was a similarity they shared.

You're comparing apples to pears here. Those are two ENTIRELY different things.
I'm pretty sure you know what OC means. Original character. So when you say 'hey, they remind me of this other character!" the original falls apart in front of the creator and they will feel bad. Comparing characters is never a compliment. Instead of constantly trying to defend your case you could also learn and accept it the way it is. It's not too hard to do.

Don't mean to butt in here, but comparing someone's art to another person's isn't always gonna be seen as a compliment. And the way you said your comment didn't look like a compliment, more like you were insinuating that the creator of Ghoul copied that design or something, which is a kinda shitty assumption to make. 

White, black, and green are very common colors to use for a palette. Hell, I've got a character that adorns those colors. Honestly its not a big deal if there are two or even hundreds of characters that share the same colors. There are tons of things you can do with a pallet like that. Now granted, if Ghoul had the same markings as this Toxin character, then that would be a problem, as that would be blatantly copying the design. 

So maybe you had good intentions with your comment, but its not gonna come off that way to the artist. It kinda puts them down and makes em feel shitty for making their character.
