Bc they’re both of Black Arms blood they have the ability to create and share hiveminds- these 2 can both access 2 different ones- the main one with Black Doom and all the other aliens- and one Sonic channeled himself for only him and Shadow to share and access. During ShtH, Sonic was a main guide 4 his brother thru the whole thing even when he couldn’t be around him (Shadow could reach spots he couldn’t) so Sonic kept in touch with him via hivemind!
