Description So easy even a computer can do it!  I taught mine how to do it in four hours!

(I made a computer program that makes random pictures like this for a school assignment.  I procrastinated and waited until today, the last day to get it done, but I knew it was easy enough that I could get away with it)

If you do this in oils on a big canvas it'll really tie your room together! Hmm, but a very, very light grey as a background color might make the colors pop better

Yeah; it would fit in perfectly with the theme of my room: Random Mess!  Should I hang it high enough not to get a yellow piss stain or would that improve it?
I recall programming it to set background to WHITE; I could very easily change that
I could diddle around on it more and make it only produce shapes of a certain range of colors (it was making them all in different shades of blue until I gave it more Color arguments) or I could make it so that you can input whatever shapes you want, or even teach it to ask you questions about how something looks and then paint you a picture based on it and then you can answer its questions about how good of a job it did so that it can learn how to do better next time.

Seriously considering making a Fighting Kings prototype for extra credit...

My childhood, I used to waste hours on making random shapes through paint xD.
What I interpret is one wheelchair guy talking to another guy from above

It looks like MS Paint, doesn't it?
I don't even know how to interpret this XD

At this moment I should be doing computer programing to create a simple interactive game
But I failed at getting a good one
And at this moment I'm completely restarting to a new idea.

Oh?  What kind of game?  What programming language?

Just any kind of simple game. It's on khan academy.
And the programming is English...wait...huh?

Um.... computer programming is done in different programming languages... nothing to do with English or other speaking languages; look it up on Wikipedia.
Ah, Khan Academy is one of those places where you can self-educate.  You could maybe even get way ahead in math if you want.  I study on a bunch of other websites, like this one that has quantum physics courses and programming courses as well.

Oh, really? How are they?

Oh, well, they're harder than the stuff I learn at school, that's for sure.
I'm thinking of making a Fighting Kings.... nah, I changed my mind; a Larry Koopa: Zombie Heartbreaker game for extra credit.  A really simple prototype though.  If I can even manage that...

Wow. Well, as my parents once said, learning the hard things first makes others things easier...at least how I remember it...
Ooh. How will it work?

Yeah, but the line of thinking at most institutions of higher learning is the opposite.  They want you to take easy classes first so that you're either totally unprepared for when you get to hard classes, or so bored out of your mind that you go crazy and get bad grades.  I'm stuck at a community college which by rule does not have hard classes, or harder than a certain level anyway, and I'm afraid that I may never get to go to a good college.  I could have gone to a good college if I were allowed to apply right out of high school, but I wasn't, so I just took the first opportunity I got, out of desperation, to go to any college (and BOY was it a bad one!) and then I move to a different state and find out about a rule here that says if you've got credits from another college you can't go to our GOOD colleges unless you have at least 60.  No deleting your credits and starting over either.  This rule has been nothing but pain for me - I'm beginning to hate my piano class; I'd rather learn piano on my own but I'm only taking it at school so I can get credit so they will let me go to the good college but unlike most classes at a 4 year college they force you to attend class for points instead of letting you be absent if you want except on test days.  But I can't get good grades if I have to attend class because being around people disrupts my ability to think clearly and puts me in a bad mood so I can't study or anything.  Well, at least one of my computer teachers lets me stay home instead of doing lectures which is much-needed.
Lesson learned: DO NOT GO TO COMMUNITY COLLEGE if you ever hope to transfer out.

Anyway, well I would program the girlfriends to have different personalities, bits of which are revealed when you choose what questions to ask them, and you get points for taking them out on a date and getting them to kiss you and even more for successfully two-timing them (dating two girls in the same night) and then when you break their heart they go into vicious zombie mode and you have to destroy them.
Or something like that.  If I made a Fighting Kings game then the kings would fight each other and also have armies that they have to command and it would be a really campy sort of geek-chic with corny sound effects and music but it would be really addictive to try and build your army the best and collect the resources you need and go riding on your steed through the woods up to your adversary's castle but if I made it it would be a really simple version to start and even the simplest version of what I described might be too complicated...

Oh dear me...
Well, I'll take that advice well. And I certainly hope the best for you.

Both sound very interesting. For the Larry Koopa game, it's basically a date and reject kind of thing? Then destroying said date otherwise? But how would he break up with them?
The fighting kinds sound pretty addicting and strategic like chess but I can see what you mean by geek-chick and corny with the music...although that depends on the music and sound effects decided.

Well the Larry game would challenge you to try to decipher clues about the ladies' personalities so you know how to get in their pants get them to date you and kiss you, paying attention to who their friends are and where they're going to be on the weekend so they don't find out and snitch on you, and also how best do defeat them when they go psycho-zombie on you.  You can either break their heart on purpose, by selecting the wrong thing to say on purpose, (the right thing to say will depend on their personality and other hidden factors) or on accident, by being caught two-timing or selecting the wrong things to say on accident.

And yes Fighting Kings would be really campy but that would be part of its charm.  As well as being addictive and and strategic like chess but it also challenges your reflexes cause you have to make your moves in real time while all the fighting and gore and slashing up is going on Speaking of Fighting Kings, I saw a bunch of Game of Thrones stuff at the book store today, including a board game and even a little sword for tearing open envelopes with - is Game of Thrones like a Fighting Kings ripoff for fake geeks and mainstream people?  (Sorry I know nothing about that series)

Oh, so like dating in real life and kicking up a notch basically regular dating but with a touch of gore and purpose inquires?

Ah, yes. That would add to it especially withstanding the gore and sucking up your victory or loss being kinda more of a game for online. I know nothing of it either; I apologize.

Yeah, and you get points for being a player.  Probably a bad lesson to be teaching the kids, but this is Larry we're talking about.  He seems to like older women, according to something said in the Super Mario-Kun comic, he apparently flirted with Yellow and Blue Toad's mother...

Fighting Kings would be like World of Warcraft I guess (I've never played that and I know nothing about the rules either; I did see a strategy guide at that bookstore today too though.  Ah I remember back when I used to read strategy guides like regular books just for fun, even for games I never played or didn't have...)  and yes it would be more of an online type game.  I mean it would get boring battling the same crappy AI all the time... unless developments in machine learning could make artificial intelligence that learns how to be more difficult from playing you, and even figures out your personal playing style and targets your weaknesses...

SuperSaiyan67 In reply to CosmicKitten89 [2015-04-25 05:44:56 +0000 UTC]

True. Larry is the mad for babies kind of guy sort of individual leaning more to women.
I did not know that...

Back before my N64 burnt a fuse on my television, I used to spend a lot of time reading instruction manuals and the Wii manuals from time to time.
That sounds pretty hard (at least for some kids) though artificial intelligence in the game would challenge you, made you find a different approach to win, or just quit after several attempts of the same strategy only to see that if fails consecutively.

Thanks, I made it using Java
At first everything was coming out all blue-looking, but then I found that if I gave the Color parameter three arguments (R,G,B) it uses a wider selection of colors.  I also had to fix a few things since there weren't enough ovals coming out and all of the ovals and rectangles came out filled instead of roughly half of them, as the assignment called for.

Interesting! I'm assuming by R, G, B, you mean red, green, and blue?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CosmicKitten89 In reply to Iuumi [2015-04-22 03:55:48 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, each color is color-coded based on red, green and blue values.  And black too (I think?) So what I gather from that is that the Color class constructor is overloaded (that's when you write two different methods with the same name but different numbers of parameters)
