Bullying hard mode is bad. You might do little mischievous things if the other can handle it, but when things get serious, it's better not continue.
You can look at Erick's face, he's so scared. However, why being there? Is his determined face make a proof to them...? Will he receive the same fate as his friend...? Will he be able to maintain his pose without hesitating or getting a slight mishap of anxious behavior...? One thing for sure is, he's lying to himself believing, magic can even protect him this time....

As a boy I thought I could make magic so one day if something bad would happen I could use it.

Bullies are the worst. It's funny that they act like someone like Erick is shaking in his shoes, being shy all the time and mocking him for it, when he's more courageous than them for actually standing up to them for someone else's sake. If anything the bullies are the real cowards, ganging up on people that can't fight back and kicking them while they're down instead of handling their problems like any sane person would. Of course, if Erick COULD cast magic and fight back, that'd run the risk of turning HIM into a bully too. It really is such a delicate balance.

Yeah, everybody wants to be in the right when they take action like this. It doesn't take magic to loosen the grip of reality, only morals. I mean, it'd be nice to have anti-bully magic barriers but hurting them back is rarely the answer. Fortunately most bullies are acting on cowardice and self-esteem issues so scaring them is enough sometimes. It's just a matter of knowing how much to push back, enough to send the babies running but not so much to make them want payback.
