Description
There, I said I would make this into a series - Fitzwilliam Darcy (Colin Firth is the only Mr Darcy, his rendition of Darcy is perfection, and nothing will convince me otherwise.) is pretty much THE man of period drama. And gets more fan art than any other, but I daresay he thoroughly deserves it.- more period drama men to come soon -

I must say that I approve greatly of the likeness, as it shows off my finest attributes.

That was a really good Mr. Darcy. Though the one in the Keira Knightly movie had a lovably cold but buffoonish air to him. And I thought Wishbone did a pretty good job XD.

Never seen the the Wishbone version, I suppose the buffoonish air is what bothered me about Macfadyen's portrayal in first place though. I thought he was amiable, just ... not exactly what I imagined Darcy to be like. I thought he was good enough until I watched the 1995 version, then everything was lost on me. XD
Haven't heard from you in a while, how are you?

I've been good. Moved nearer to Canada.
My favorite Darcy is the one in the book. I have yet to see anyone who actually portrays him in a way I love. Thus far I haven't found anyone I hated: I dislike many Elizabeths and Mr. Collins, but not Darcy.
Who's your favorite Mrs. Bennet? (That's my favorite character.)

Good! ^^
Quite clearly Alison Steadman, just gotta love her. Yours?

It was actually this girl in a high school play that did the best Mrs. Bennet I've ever seen. She looked a lot older than she was, and played her very excitable and just generally had a lot of fun with her. But the one in the Kightly movie was good.

Splendidly executed! Though I will be candid and admit that the Firth Darcy is not exactly how I envisioned Darcy, I was more inclined to Macfadeyen's portrayal, but still, you created a compelling portrait!
You have this uncanny knack to capture the intricate quirks and details of the facial features, as well persona through expression.
What is truly striking here are the eyes! It has an almost photographic depiction, something seldom can an artist execute so deftly as you did here!
The pose was positioned quite aptly, and so was the perspective with the hand.
The background was lighted quite nicely, though my only reservation is that due to candle lighting of the time period, the lighting should be toned some degrees. But overall, this is a superb piece!

Thank you very much, yet again! I appreciate your comments very much! I must admit that Macfadyen, even though I generally think of him as a superb actor, simply doesn't work as Darcy for me. I simply can't get myself to care for him very much for some reason - I do absolutely adore him as Arthur Clennam in Little Dorrit though (which may well be my next subject).
Thank you very much for the critique as well, should I have tried to give a accurate portrait of the accommodation of the period, I would have failed indeed. The lightening is deliberately over the top, for artistic purposes, though I do understand your disapproval .

Above all, it is excellent work, and I eagerly await to see your depiction of Macfadyen as Clennam!
