in case you are wondering what "The Enemy Within" is, it's the unofficial title for the TV Movie

very nice

I'd probably go for the 2nd Doctor.

I also love the different costume for 5th Doctor.

I'm guessing the War Doctor would be an unlockable character, lol.

I don't count him, always hated the idea of The War Doctor and like The Brain of Morbious incarnations, The Doctor being half human, basically everything the 1st Doctor said in Twice Upon a Time and that one time a character said the N word, I think the show and the fans should move on and pretend like he didn't happen.

War Doctor ONLY exists because Eccleston didn't want to return. So I agree strongly.

Absolutely no reason why it wasn't Paul McGann It should have been McGann over Eccleston. Day of the Doctor is already bad, but it would have been made 10 times better by actually having three Doctors instead of two Doctors and John Hurt for some reason. But god forbid we have a Doctor in the 50th that wasn't created by or helped defined by Moffat. Even Tom Baker had to be a Moffat Doctor couldn't be the 4th Doctor had to be "The Caretaker"... 6 years later and Day of the Doctor still makes me mad.

Right! Totally. And as much as I like McGann and enjoyed that small short with him. It did show him transfer before the war. And Ecclestons Doctor frequently talked about being in the middle of the wars (of course he would've been in any carnation so I get that isn't a lock it had to be NINE specifically). But I just think how hard and jaded nine was versus the other two, it would've been GREAT for this major decision to be made with his next two incarnations adding some catharsis to Nines painful existence. Rather than a "war doctor" wedged into it. But, yeah, if Eccleston didn't want to return, you use McGann.

I get what you're saying and that would have been better. But Day of the Doctor (Let's Wipe Our Ass With Continuity) aside, when you watch series 1 I always took it to be the 9th Doctor was the result of the Time War ending not the one who ended it. 8 would have used the moment and regenerated because of it. To me 9 wasn't The Doctor who ended the war, he was The Doctor who had to live with the guilt of stopping the war.

I get that absolutely. I even read a piece about how he was the PTSD Doctor. So that makes total sense that when the kinda pretty (curly hair etc) Doctor had to witness and participate in truly horrible moments, his regeneration would be the square jawed much less flamboyant 11. Totally simpatico.
Regardless, more McGann, more Eccleston would've been great. Too little of both.
