I'm overdue for a new badass Nightmare Moon piece...So here she is bust'n out of the moon, ready to dish out some eternal night.
Had this laying around in a folder unfinished... I think I started it in the summer. Having some insomnia... so I decided to finish it off.
Two hours or so (to finish it).
CS3.
Yes, I will make wallpapers... but not right now.
And the reason it's extra wide, is because when I started it I had a dual monitor setup... So when I do make wallpapers, expect to see at least one for a dual display.
If you crop or resize it to use as your own personal wallpaper... please refrain from posting your modified versions elsewhere... or if you do it anyways, at the very least, cite your source (here). Or make a new "crappyunicorn.deviantart" stamp.

Well, 3 monitor eyefinity typically runs at ~5760 x 1200 (or 5760 x 1080 with 3 16x9 monitors) although the horizontal rez can change depending on how much bezel correction one chooses to add. So even if a bigger version existed, I'd have to crop the top and bottom of the image to give it the correct aspect ratio.

My very first thought upon seeing this (and I'm sure others have beaten me to it by now): "AH! AFTER ONE THOUSAND YEARS, I'M FREE! IT'S TIME TO CONQUER EQUESTRIA!"
I love how everything in this picture is in focus except for Nightmare Moon -- as if her power cannot be adequately captured from a snapshot. This is absolutely wonderful.

It really makes the picture warmer, and it respects the physics while being absolutely awe inspiring, great work, as always !

I've always loved the way the moon looks during a lunar eclipse... And with reds/oranges and blues/purples being so complementary, I just had to do something with Nightmare Moon on the moon during an eclipse.k
