Acting as a crossroads of sorts, a great sprawling wilderness flooded by water and open to the sky is places between the eastern Mystic Veil, the south-eastern tropics, and southern scrub forests that lead into the famed dunes of a massive desert. Coming from the south, this place will automatically seem like a haven, bountiful with blooming flora and refreshing water, but from the less sun-scorched lands of the Mystic Veil, its beauty also hides deadly beasts who invade from the sprawling rain forests. A bulwark of a beast who calls this interstice home unchallenged is the Inatagolus— covered in heavy plating, spiked scales with column-like legs that carry a frame taller then most village houses, a full grown Inatagolus has few enemies. While herds venture to all their neighbouring biomes, they always return to the fields and pools of their wetland home. Many creatures have learned to follow in their shadows—small creatures and fellow grazers keep close to them for protection, while hunters need to find ways of separating the flock from their wardens. Because of their height and the spout on the top of their shielded head, Inatagolus can go into deep waters that few others can, which is usually when their procession becomes exposed.

Inatagolus are very powerful beasts, a full grown one easily able to knock away boulders or fallen trees that might get in their way. Each of their armoured legs acts like a divine hammer as they hit the ground; a stomp from both front legs after rearing up easily being able to shatter stone and knock any nearby animals off their feet from the tremors alone. While some giants or leviathans crawling in from the sea maybe able to meet them eye-to-eye, the Inatagolus isn’t one to flinch away from a challenge. Herds are primarily made up of females with young, and it is the job of adolescent Inatagolus to lead calves away from danger if a beast manages to break through or sneak past the matriarch. While young males may be found patrolling the more forested parts of their marshy home, many full-grown males are said to explore the south-eastern coastline and nearby islands, expanding their range into the ocean. Despite their ancient appearance and solid rule over this specific region of the world, Inatagolus are relatively new to records of the world. The eastern dynasty was vast and knowledgable, and while they have accounts of similar creatures, nothing matches an Inatagolus one-for-one. They are newer discovery attributed to contemporary nomads who have begun to flourish after the dark ages of the Giant’s March. It is believed that either those violent years spurred this animals evolution, or that maybe Inatagolus were residents of the Land of Giants, having fled their home in preparation of the coming upheaval.
