Hey everyone, I have some great and exciting news!!In Washington state, where i currently reside, we are going to be the second state to bring in a law that will allow you to change your legal sex to a nonbinary term, X, on January 27th of 2018!
This is something I am happier than ever to see, and I can’t wait to apply! seeing change and acceptance in our government makes me so happy and I’m excited to be able to feel much more accepted in society!

Wouldn't it really refer to gender, not sex?
As per the comment below, they need to know your biological sex as male and female bodies have different health issues / show different signs for different things etc.

it's a great thing and very positive, but I just worry

I can see that as well. My sibling is possibly trans, but they haven't decided yet, so for now unknown. I can understand the struggle it can be.
It's quite hard for me to keep up as well and make sure that I don't hurt my sibling. I keep calling them by their full name and not the name they want to be called by, I do it out of habit and I feel so bad when I do. It's good to see acceptance in the world
