Well...I have no idea what I was thinking today I just felt like doing a portrait, and I picked Janis Joplin, it was going to be John Lennon but maybe another time.I pretty much spent most of the day writing an article but then I spent about 4 hours on this. Reference from the best of album cover. Hand painted in photoshop w/int3 also just a few brushes from *1lovesdevine for the retro flowers.
more or less a speed paint, not a whole lot of attention to detail, shes resting her chin on her arm.
I may scrap it but for now, here you go.

I love janis joplin, but I can't really tell that it is her, it does bare some resemblence, but I really can't see the 'janis' in this picture. but nicely done all the same.

This is nice but i have to comment the look alike. So smooth and girly, without the position and the sunglasses i wouldnt regognize this as Janis.

It's a beautiful picture, I really love the hairs. They're as they'd be a photograph.
Where I see a problem is the nose. It looks like you drawed the picture a bit from the right side, but the nose is drawed from the front.
And the nasal bone is maybe a little bit too wide.
This is the only thing I had to say something ... "bad" ( I don't find another word.. I'm not good enough in english. sorry)
Anyway, it's a great pic!
Something I love too about it is her arm. It looks really like it does in the original.

When I read the title, I immediately thought "Janis" even before I read the description. And to be honest, I have NO idea who she is. I've heard of her somewhere, but am clueless about her.
