Aspen's parents used to tell her stories about successfully cats who the clans all looked up to, the stories sounded so fantastic that it slowly turned into a desire to reach such a point herself.

Kithood (0 - 5 Moons)

0 Moons: Aspen was the sole kit in her litter. During her first moon she was relatively quiet unless hungry, during those times she was very loud and boisterous. Her mother Willowfrost named her after a tree leaf they had in her nest.

1-3 Moons: during Aspen's first moon her parents were really excited to be able to interact with her, aspen spent majority of the next few moons playing with her mum and other kits in the nursery and occasionally her father Pinewhisker. During aspens 3rd moon her father Pinewhisker past away leaving Aspen and her mother to grieve for him, during this time she came to wish to make her mother and now starclan father proud of who their daughter would become.

4-5 Moons: During Aspens 4th and 5th moon aspen spent the start of it playing with her mother and kits as normal till the in-clan fighting started, during that time she spent a lot of her time hiding with the other kits, her mother and other queens. This lead to her becoming really protective of her fellow kits even towards her other clan members. during this time while aspen did become increasingly protective of her mother, fellow kits and other queens she also felt incredibly afraid of her fighting clan mates and a potential killer hiding among them. Worried that she wouldn't be able to protect her family if any of her clan mates attacked the nursery. Afterwards she spent majority of her time hissing at any approaching cat who was involved in that fighting for a long time, eventually getting over it once she found out the clan was safe again and there wasn't a potential killer coming to get her or those close to her.

Apprenticeship (6 - approx. 12 Moons)

6 Moons: On Aspen's apprentice ceremony day, Aspen happily sat with other apprentices to be, chatting quietly till it started. afterwards aspen went to her new mentor Shadedrop and chatted with them for a little before going over to her mother who was looking at her with pride. this caused aspen to purr in joy and decide she would do anything to make her mother proud.

The small soon to be apprentice kit sat quietly next to her mother, pawing the ground nervously "do you think my mentor will like me?" she looked up at her mother with big bright eyes, her tail curled tightly around her side. Aspens mother looked down at the kit with a kind gaze before licking a spot of dirty fur on her head, causing the kit to nearly topple over in surprise at the sudden lick. "Of course they will, you'll make any mentor proud Aspen kit" Aspen purred softly at that, smiling up at her mother before standing and stretching slightly. She jumped around her mother in excitement at her mothers words "I cant wait to find out then" she chirped.  Her mother purred back softly before attempting to get Aspen to sit "stop moving so much, you'll mess up your fur again". This caused Aspen to whine quietly "But I'm to excited to sit still" "oh you are now? I thought you were nervous" Her mother replied amused by her kits change in attitude. "yes well I was worried my mentor wont like me- but you said they would! so it must be right" Aspen replied Optimistically. Aspens mother watched her fondly at that before returning to cleaning the impatient kit.
