Hello Bunnies!I was asked to do a tutorial on the gems I drew in this commission:
C: Temeraire-sama
There are many ways to draw crystals, and this is just the way I figured out to do after looking at several gem-pictures on the net.
I hope it is helpful, I tried to always show my layers and the layer-function like multiply / luminoucity ..
this is just for pink gems like in my drawing, but it works for any other color too. β₯
It would be wonderful if you show me the pictures, you used this tutorial for! I'd love to see

I usually struggle with coloring gems because I never really found something that fits with the style I have. This actually helped because it looks ten times nicer than before now~ Β coffee-vampire.tumblr.com/postβ¦ this the result of when I tried it out~Β

I never understood what is the "multiply" mode was for... what is it doing ? Do you know ?

multiply is like uhm...
do you know semi-transparent, colored paper ? it is not really paper, it is the kind of material what you can find in these cheap 3-d-glasses.
like if you layer them over another.
that's how mutiply works i guess. the colors are being merged together.
but i'm not really sure myself, it is just what i think :/
if i draw green, and put a layer of blue over it with multiply, the color will be something in between like turkis
and mostly double darker tone of the original colors.
