I modeled the rings in Maya and added the light and the background in Photoshop, was just something I did to have fun with Maya and try and get more comfortable using it on non-school assignments.

In regards to the actual source material...

For those who don't understand, I will explain. In the DC comic universe there is the Green lantern Corps. Green Lanterns are an inter-galactic peace force that wield power rings that can project force-fields, allow them to fly, create energy constructs, etc.

The thing is, there is an entire spectrum of colours, and every colour has an associated emotion. Green, for example, is willpower.

The Orange lanterns are powered by greed, and for some reason (that would likely worry me if I thought about it too much) I feel a strange affinity to them, possibly because I’m so damn Materialistic.

As far as I know, the Orange Lantern oath has yet to be revealed, so if anyone has seen anything official from DC (and not some forum thread for DC fans, no offence) please let me know.

I hope to be doing more of the rings, so stay tuned!
