Description
Ever since I first heard Maul was still alive and somehow survived being sliced in two, I've had this picture of Maul slowly dragging his upper half across the floor, furious, depressed, and alone. Then one day I was listening to some Beatles music and heard "Yesterday." Now, I'd heard this song dozens of times, yet it somehow took on new meaning when I thought of poor Maul. I mean they lyric "I'm not half the man I used to be." seems to fit Maul's dilemma perfectly. I started laughing, imagining how Maul would sound singing that song in his voice.

But, really it is kinda tragic for someone to train their entire life for a singular purpose and then be cut down in their prime, especially when all Maul knew was fighting and hatred from his childhood. I pictured Obi-wan to be the "shadow" hanging over Maul ever since that fateful duel on Naboo. I'm sure a few other Star Wars and Beatles fans have thought of this funny coincidence between Maul and "Yesterday," and in my opinion it really makes him a more sympathetic character.
