The real question is what happened to all the humans in the 100 million years Or so it took the equestrians to evolve. Did they leave to colonies the star and evolve into god knows what. Or did something else happen to them, maybe humanity was working on some sort of grand project that failed horrifically, wiping them all out, maybe thatβs why theres magic in there world. The project was to allow the warping of reality itself by manifesting the mental as the physical, and when it failed it disrupted the barrier between thought and reality, allowing for localized reality bending, or βmagicβ , which the remaining life on earth slowly evolved to take advantage of

That's a rather unique idea for evolution, but now I have to wonder where you got the height from... That's not been confirmed and has shown itself inconsistent.

I believe that Equus Maximus Adorabilis are a bit smaller - 90cm at head level and 40-50kg weight. If they live at same places like real wild horses and where are not lions and tigers, they need no more height and weight for defense their population against wolves and cougars. (I think the chanches in fight between one wolf and one pony must be 50/50. Bigger E.M.A. with her flexibility and intellect kicks the wolf quickly out.)

Looking at this, it just occurred to me that we've already seen something similar in the evolution of the chihuahua. I remember seeing a picture of a chihuahua skeleton next to a wolf skeleton. The eye sockets were about the same size for both, but because the chihuahua was smaller, the eyes appeared larger in comparison to its head.

Do you know if anyone has drawn the skeleton of a G4 male (stallion)? All the G4 skeleton drawings I've seen seem to be of females (mares).

But wait, in the prehistoric era, weren't equines much smaller (about the size of My Little Pony's) and over time grew larger in size through evolution and very recently selective breeding by humans? For example we never had Clydesdale horses during the Eocene period in Earth's history. Or are equestrian ponies at the early stages of their evolutionary ascent and will become normal horse-sized in 20-30 million of their years?
Also I wonder what evolutionary traits exist to protect the larger eyes on the ponies we are familiar with. More dense skin on the eyelids perhaps? Certainly they are not organs one would want to be easily damaged.
Damnit, this has got me over-analysing colorful equines again. I was trying to kick that habit. I'm going to be thinking on this for a while now.
And the middle equine diagram could only be ascribed to G3, IMO.
But I like this. Nice work. Seems legit.

No, you raise a good point, especially with the eyes. Sometimes I wonder how large their brains are, given such a large pair of eyes. And how do they avoid getting blinded, considering something flying towards their faces would more likely than not hit their eyes? It's a question worth pondering.

Only the genus should be capitalized. Not the species or subspecies. Change "Homo Sapiens Sapiens" to "Homo sapiens sapiens" and "Equus Maximus Adorabilis" to "Equus maximus adorabilis". Also, I don't see your reasoning behind the capitalization of "Comparative Pony evolution chart."

That'sΒ the artitst'sΒ intention.
Griffon Paleontologists found remains of this extinct Equine in an area named Dream Valley. They have yet to name those remains. Part of the Equestrian population however considers those fossils a hoax.

The large pony skull is also justified in that they have human-level intelligence and thus would have a large brain in comparison to the body.
The shorter less developed muzzle would be for the same reason our own jaws are smaller. Chewing ability is less critical than speech since they are able to cook food and grow crops rather than feeding only on tough wild plants.
Pony vision may even be tetrachromatic, extending into the UV range. If so, they could probably tell just by looking how many hours ago a piece of fruit was picked.

The intermediary is clearly a classic example of E. sapiens zacherlei, with the more robust skeletal structure common to pre-modern Equine fossils discovered in Dream Valley.

There are many! One is the low light vision, ponies have huge irises and pupils that are able to contract to pinprick, so it allows a wide range of light conditions to see well in. Second is that ponies do not have quite as expressive faces as humans, so the large eyes help to communicate emotions more clearly, making staring someone down a lot more verbal experience in pony body language. Then there's the benefit of being able to see over broader range around you with just a turn of the eye when ponies lost some neck mobility as the skull grew and body shrank. This means there's less need to turn your head to lock vision on something, it may have even emerged as means to get ability to focus up close while retaining eyes more to the sides of the head, as a reaction to reduction in muzzle size ponies have to get more up and personal with their food and things in front of their faces.
Other massive ocular size benefits are ability to detect motion through fog, more space for light sensitive cells in the eyeball, this would mean ponies have developed acute and clear color vision and low light "resolution". Then there's always the benefit of being able to display your eyecolor, perhaps ponies are more selective over eyecolor in their mating rituals. There are more advantages to large eyes, one is to let predators know you are watching, making them less likely to pounce you even if you aren't the strongest being, as stalking predators try to benefit from lack of awareness, and ponies with massive eyes seem super-aware even if they aren't looking at you
