Oh how I long to be back on those Indian trains. Such an incredible and surreal way to travel! It takes some getting used to, the heat, the smell, the crowds, the noise but once you mark down a few thousand K on the Indian trains they begin to feel like home. I've had many great experiences on the railway in India and would love to get back on those rails. This is a picture that I took out the door of one of the trains going to Jaiselmir I believe. I'm pretty sure that the pile of gravel was to be used as fill for under the tracks so the sand doesn't kick up too much. But to me it kind of looked like a desert tomb.
