Even here, in the junction point between man and machine, a form of those twisted creatures lingers like taxmen on a bridge. The creation of the Gatewatchers was overseen by the Councilors of Sin themselves as part of the design for the Dark Machine.

No gatewatcher resides in the mortal world or even Hell itself. They were built and stationed exclusively as guards to the Throat of worlds, leaving their existence between two realities.

You will have to brandish your weapons as you jump through this crater. The Gatewatchers will sense the intrusion and act accordingly with their ability to manipulate the very current of the portal as a weapon. Once you enter the Throat of Worlds, there will be no turning back.”
