“Have you heard whispers carried by disturbed winds tonight? Have you seen eyes from twisted metal leering from the black between trunks? No? Then let us finish this tale most grisly.

One day, a tall figure departed from the town after finishing his great work. Dawn had crawled up the horizon to greet the land with the first rays of sunlight. The town was quiet. Voluntarily or not, the men, women, and children of the town had abandoned their old skins along with the wood and cobble that had sheltered them in a life no longer theirs.

The Father had come into town under the veil of night, eager to adopt new children into his shadow family. He came with a new face, and to each and every one of his soon to be children, had granted a new face to them as well. And so a father and his many children departed into the dark valley, as the sun rose to witness the headless shapes abandoned with a once prosperous town.

Every year on this night, it is said you can hear the whispers and snickering of these new faced children in the darkest of woods, forever bound to the father of heads.”
