Description A scene from the game Baldur's Gate, by Bioware.

Not much to say here, really; Charname's foster father Gorion makes a stand against a mysterious armored figure and his henchmen (and henchwoman) so that the child can escape. This marks the end of Charname's childhood, as the doors of Candlekeep are now sealed and they're thrust out into the world by themselves (at least, it's the end of the game's prologue, anyway).

Epic, but Gorian never uses a fireball in the actual battle...

I really like it Coutelier, you were able to actually visualize of what had happen. the battle between Gorion and Sarevok- thus made it possible for you to reflect and create this amazingly scene that has transpired amidst the carnage...

Few I have seen people with such flair and... dedication... for the Baldur's Gate series...

Thank you. I spent most of my day working on this. In Poser I used a number of point lights, but I still rendered each element seperately (the trees, each of the characters. the spell effects) and layered it in Photoshop, where I further enhanced the lighting and added the glow to all the all the magic thrown about (as well as the armored figures glowing eyes).

Ogre Down! The old guy lasted quite long. But his spell use and selection was terrible...

Yeah... although what could he really do against someone with 100% magic resistance?

Grab the kid, dimension door, get to the horses... Why did a man of his wealth not have a horse? But true, it was pretty onesided (Tamoko's attack should have killed Charname anyway...)

I often wonder why they don't use horses more. But I guess Gorion just hadn't been adventuring for a long time, so was a little out of practice and unprepared...

I suppose... but, wouldn't he resist? I thought it was his armor that made him immune...
