Y'know, interestingly enough, Peter Davison (the 5th Doctor) in real life is David Tennant's (the 10th Doctor) father-in-law.

The Doctor grew younger, didn't he? William Hartnell was the oldest of people to be to Doctor, and then Matt Smith started at 27. I guess they needed someone for the girl fans. 10, 11 <3

Well, the fangirls are going to be a little disappointed, the guy who's set to play the Twelfth Doctor is roughly the same age William Hartnell was when he started playing the Doctor.

I'm actually quite comfortable with their choice in Peter Capaldi, honestly.
It's also fitting, seeing as there's rumors that he's going to be the last Doctor at all, and they're ending the series at him. Maybe they'll finally say what happened to the Doctor's Daughter?

If the Doctor became female, then the actress would have to be attractive enough to please viewers, and by the time she's that attractive, she most likely wouldn't be a very good actress, and she wouldn't be able to do all the running they do in the show. Because expectations would be so high, the Doctor would be better off staying male.
