Yet another Opera House shot.I see it every day yet I still manage to take photos of it...
Edit: Jorn Utzon, the original architect for the Opera House, has just passed away.
That now means that there are no World Heritage buildings that still have the original architects alive.

I know it helps the environment, but it's a little sad that they no lonegr light up the sails after 0100.
It looks nothing like this in the morning now unless you cheat and HDR it.

I lived in Sydney for 18yrs and never once took a photo of the habour bridge or opera house, which I deeply regret. It's good that you see the beauty in the building still

The tour guides have a swag of stories about that (They interrupt us all the time, so we overhear a lot of their tales... some of them not as true as others).
Two interesteing things about the outside of the building:
1) There are two colours of tiles, gloss- and off- white. This prevents the buildign from glaring too much in the sunlight.
2) The tiles are all triple-glazed, and self-cleaning. (The tour guides tout this as a marvel of technology, however it's the same "technology" that keeps your toilet clean: Glazed Porceiln.)
