It's very difficult to say what I enjoy in this piece of work. Let's start at the top of my own thoughts. I am not nearly as talented or taught, as my members here. I smirked and understood your comment about enjoyment and frustration though. I am currently working on an oil painting in my Corel 12...and it sucks compared to people's work here :/
On with the critique. The woman is as beautiful in how you have painted her here, as she is in her own regards. The shadowing on her face, and the somberness you have captured stand out well.
The background in this piece of work is sort of Twilight Zone, I like it a lot. I think the idea of having a violin in the image, as well as the time/ space thing you have going on, go well together.
The colors you have chose work very well together. Specifically about her eyes, I think choosing green was a wise decision. Though I think blue have looked good too, the green does something...it sort of charges of charges or or "brings life to" her.

You're welcome, sorry it took so long to get back. Something I didn't notice, even though it was right there the whole time, is the bow becomes the hour hand of the clock, very classy. When I was looking at the painting originally, I wondered why you chose 2...serves me right for doing critiques when I am tired. You gotta love irony, I think it's a cousin of sarcasm truthfully.
