“Through the decay of architecture and the overgrowth from nature caused by the outside world, there remained more than a connection to this place. Similar to how we have memories from before all of this happened, she knew what it felt like to be happy here. From the smells of the atmosphere to the taste of the kids meal she typically ordered, she would always love coming here with her mother. Moments pass and she’d begin to feel a swelling knot rise inside her chest as the past began to reoccur. Her mother was what she missed more than some burger place, but her sadness clouded the judgment that this place is still another part of her mother. Before the brink of crying, she tilted her head up and saw the poster above her head. Seeing the backpack in the picture sparked the memory of getting her very own. Her mother and herself came in and ordered. A special was going on that with her usual kids combo, they would give away a small backpack with it as well. Remembering the way her mother looked at her while passing it, gave her much joy and peace to relive. The connections that she shared with her mother were closer than the building she stood in now. A memory of her mother was strapped to her back since the day she got it and she didn’t remember until now.”
