Description While examining other people's collections/sites, I noticed comissions/collaborations involve more display of wip, so here this is:
A=layout for Np03: coworker standing outside of cubicle, giving 'get out' instruction (Trudy in background)
B= blue elephant shooting hearts: trying Tyr's shirt desighn (wanted to draw elephant)
C= Skant (or Scant) attempt: dw's website uses Kankuro from Ramen Fighter Miki as a reference for Scant, so I wanted to provdide a different image (cause Kankuro was my favorite character from that series, Nya)
D= Face test for Nancy
E= attempt to layout coworker being seen through veil of tears (distorting appearance): execution is crude and needs a lot of practice
F,G,H,I,J= More face tests for Nancy
K=Trudy test: tried making a rounder face, to add innocence/child-llike impness
L=Barbara test = longer, gaunter face
M 1-7= Tyr face test: not too much practice drawing children and their alternate proportions (larger eyes, shorter face, rounder head)
N= profile test: looks like rubber mask on android head
O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V=random face practice

*Grin* That's for Tyr, my G/F in Barrier. she wears a dress that has that design on it.

Now let me see ...

(A) Woman says get out. Very accurate. She didn't use any subtlety in her hand motions and everyone smiled and smirked as she did it.

(B) Tyr's shirt design. Nicely drawn ! I was thinking more of the elephants being more cartoonish, like this: [link]

(C) Scant, excellent ! I don't think you could've gotten closer to it. While he is taller than Dev, he is mostly fat, but stills strong and muscular and easy to overtake smaller Dev.

(D) Very nice ! I'd like to keep her close to the illustration I have, if at all possible. If not, suggest slightly smaller nose and you definitely have the look of confidence about her.

(E) Was a co-worker crying ? If you mean Barbera, it was like looking into the eyes of a flame that flickered. Those tears were only there momentarily and once she saw I was looking at her with compassion, that was the meanest thing she thought I could do to her. While she never said this, I could feel it.

"I don't want your !@#$% pity !"

(F-J) J is capital !
(H) is a good smirk ! I like the way you drew that.

(K) Trudy is excellent ! Yes, when I worked there she was literally smaller in frame, height, and stature than the others, very child-like. But VERY mischievous. She also almost always had her head tilted one way or another as if she wouldn't ever want to look at life head on, her head in the clouds it seemed.

(L) Barbera is well-drawn ! And yes, she did not have her hair loose but tied up often. When she did have it loose it looked incorrect for her age. It's odd. When I saw her, it was like she was having trouble keeping up with the others 'fashion' contest because her age was showing in her face and figure. I think she was the oldest woman there outside of Nancy, but Nancy was dazzlingly beautiful, despite the fact she was clearly older than the other workers there, except for maybe Barbera and a few other co-workers I didn't know about.

(M) Tyr, #3 and #6 are excellent ! I'm going to lead you to where I have my character synopses. These are not carved in stone and likely will change, but they may give you some ideas as to how everyone appears: [link]

The pinnacle character in Barrier, all 3-novels in fact, of course, is Stefani, let me know when you are ready for her.

I really didn't want to give this out till a rewrite, but that's fine, hopefully this will help.

If you're having difficulty drawing heads from the sides, I don't expect you to draw them. Even drawing faces directly from the front is fine.

Doing real 3D work in drawing to me is impossible, the fact you have it down as well as you do is a merit to your skill. If you just want to draw the people front-on, not facing their heads to the side, that would be fine.

In a situation, like in Nancy's office where several are gathered, if it's easier to just draw the back of the heads of the co-workers listening to her, that's fine too. I certainly don't expect you to work too hard at this and I appreciate the fact you've already heated up your pen for the chapters at hand !

Just to the right of #6 and #7 you've drawn the lower part of a woman's face. That, too, is excellent.

I apologize for not having a character synopsis for Nancy Principle. The only reason I did the synopsis for Barrier is because it is purely fictional and I used that to flesh out the characters in my head as I had to 'dream' up quite a bit of it.

Lilly is Rose's character. Once she knew I was working on Barrier quite intently, she wanted to be in the story, so the entire description and life history is what Rose wanted for her.

As for Nancy Principle, because I was there, I need no such reminders as to how the people were there, and of course, I knew nothing of their personal lives whereas in Barrier I can get quite detailed in their psyche and descriptions.

For NP, I've been trying first-person perspective, so this is suppose to be a woman grabing the viewer's shoulders as the viewer's eyes tear over.

Character synopsis is not necessary for NP.

I've read a couple chapters with Stefani, and if she is important to you, I can give her a try.

Please, yes, she is important to the story, but don't worry, she gets hers in the 3rd novel.

Also, if you are drawing a viewer's eyes tearing over, that might be uniquely hard to do ?

As I've never seen a picture do that before except a rain-spattered windshield I'm not sure it will get the desired effect ? You are welcome to try, however.

If first-person perspective is difficult to draw, you are welcome to draw as normal 3rd person, let me see, I think I have something I did a year ago for Barrier HERE: [link]

There's so much here... I'm a bit perplexed about the elephant (the only thing that's got color) shooting hearts of all things out of its trunk.

I should have included a link to the reference.

This is a part of an ongoing collaboration with :defdw817: specifically his Barrier novel [link]
