i have noticed a vast improvement in pretty much everything I draw with a ref now.
i used to be so like, afraid, because of this weird philosophy early internet pounded into my head,
that i wasn't a ~real~ artist if i used refs.
but i know better now, and have used a ref for literally everything i am not comfortable with, and
literally every hand i draw, because guessing what a thing looks like is a ridiculous standard to pressure yourself into.
Mucha is my favorite artist, and he had folders full of photo poses and fabric references he would
use for specific pieces. once i learned that i was like....what am i doing? i can use refs too!
It's a strange....guilty feeling i had to get over. but it was totally worth it!

I've pretty much gotten over the "im not a real artist if i use refs" thing and i stuggle with translating the ref im using into the picture like i see what the ref is but what my hand produces it just doesnt make sense and thats whats really keeping me back i think is im just not reading the ref the way i feel i should be
