No, it is not just style, Khidell really and truly does not have a visible nose XD Nor does Indrid, the other individual, for that matter, but that's beside the point It's a dumb thing I do with like, 90% of my non-human races lol
As for clothing, though, go nuts. Long as it's got some kind of alien reference on it, especially X-Files, Khidell will wear it, though they do have a preference for neon and pastel

Nothing really concrete, since the character was designed for me with only really his personality in mind, but I do kinda imagine him having heeled boots if only because I'm a slut for Alastor and want this guy to have the lil deer feets on the bottom of his boots too. Cape, I imagine would be p long, cuz he's v extra, but I doubt it would touch the ground because he has issues with dirt and germs. Other than that, you're free to play around with it!
