Description
After the death of Scar the lands started to heal. Vegetation started growing slowly, the herds were coming back little by little but king Simba managed to make deals with the neighboring prides to let his lionesses hunt in exchange for sections of the Pridelands to be traded off. Overall the land itself was doing a lot better in the new reign.

The same could not be said for the pride itself. During his reign Scar had taken in a number of rogue lionesses and small prides to make his own larger. These lionesses did not take kindly to Simba; especially one in particular. She had considered herself the future queen of Scar; had even had a cub by him. Despite Sarafina having bared him Mheetu some seasons before.

Simba relied on them though. Putting the past behind and trusting each lioness in his pride.

He put his trust in the wrong place though. While the hunting parties and Simba were out, Zira struck. She had been entrusted with Kopa since she had just had a set of cubs of her own. The only saving grace was that Mheetu did not trust her with his nephew and decided to stay close to the mouth of the den.

He came too late. Or so Zira thought. Rafiki was able to save the cubs life; and she didn't know of the cubs outcome. Assuming the cub was dead she cackled as she and the other rogue lionesses were exiled.

The king and queen knew better though. They knew she would mind the borders and would strike as soon as she had seen that the prince survived. And the decision was made. Kopa would go into exile; with Mheetu as his guard.

As they climbed down Pride Rock for what Mheetu thought was the last time Mheetu sent a prayer to the Great Kings. A prayer that this war would end peacefully, and that those who did not get the punishment they deserved would get it.
