I always have and always will see Sephiroth as canonically gay. He'd be quite proud of having the most fanboys.---------
This is NOT a "who has the most fangirls" contest entry, because it acknowledges that men find these characters attractive, too, and that disqualifies it. But I drew it, anyway, for myself.
I'm a gay fanboy. I don't draw yaoi because it's popular, nor to 'make a statement', challenge your world views, make you uncomfortable, nor to spite you. I draw it because it's what I relate to and it's what feels natural. If excluding me for that makes someone feel better, then they can have their Mary Sues. I'd much rather keep my favorite characters in character and let them be themselves. That's what made me love them in the first place.

I really do enjoy the idea of more than half of the FFVII boys being gay. I'm not sure why, but I can't really imagine any of them being straight enough to label themselves anything closer to straight than bisexual xD
Don't worry, I've realized most of the people who judge/exclude artists over gaiety seem to keep to themselves with those opinions nowadays. I write almost nothing BUT yaoi and so far no one's said a word. Hopefully you've got the same luck!

I agree with you about Seph, a certain amount of work was put into his design and I don't think SE were aiming for "straight"...

^^ omg I love this! It's just like Sephy to know all of that. I love Angeal, he makes me laugh the most, how careless he is, but seemingly instigating at the same time. I see Sephiroth as gay too .-. I mean, he just stares at Cloud a little too much xD Everytime I watch Advent Children I'm all "Sephy...Your gay is showingg..." But thats fine. This is amazingg. (: <3

Congratulations on having the confidence to be yourself. Thanks for this, this made me laugh too, but I think genesis and Angeal are practically canon as a pairing, and at the very least all three swing both ways
Genesis is way too pretty to be able to have a lasting relationship with a girl. There would be too many fights over the straighteners in the morning.

If you wanted to, I'm sure you could submit this to the contest. I personally adore yaoi, and #SilverElite supports it as well, but #xRedLeatherx does not support yaoi (for reasons unbeknown to me), and since they are part of the contest, we had to ban it. I'm not sure what their admins consider yaoi, but in my opinion, your drawing is just fine (and since I'm running the contest, I'm sure I could get you in it XD).
I'm so sorry that you felt left out because of the restrictions. I think your drawing stays very true to the characters (I, too, always thought Seph seemed rather gay XD), and I think you would have a good chance of winning. I totally understand if you don't want to enter... the restrictions are rather unfair to those who draw yaoi, and I understand not wanting to participate or support something like that... but if you would like to enter, I can certainly approve your submission and get you into the contest.
