This is one of the longer pieces I've done in a long time. Mostly 'cause I wanted to get back into doing detail work. Though I still have a long way to go *laughs* In this work I ended up trying a lot of new techniques (for me) Maybe it was a bit too much at once? Still, it was a lot of fun, 'cause I acctually pushed myself to keep coming back to it even when I felt exhausted with it. The trick, I find, it to make each area as interesting as possible for me to do. Otherwise I loose interest after the face *laughs* Looking at it now, I still think ther are a couple things I could do to it....See Close ups here: [link]

Very beutifull,love the color combo,and the spirals (wich I didn't see was a fin-oops)
but now I see,she is a mermaid, (I mistaked her fish tail to be some kind of wave spiraly dress *.*' )
Nontheless, It's very lovely and indeed interessting !

Great! She's quiet as the water, but full of life as a pond, who may seem so sleepy but can hold surprises. The detail level is amazing, as everything is interconnected, so the mermaid/naiad figure seems both actress, both part of her lovely scenario.

XD I'm not on here nearly enough; I miss so much good stuff! You're getting better at this every time, Yoshi. <3 I guess I won't see you again, since high school's over... It's disappointing. Still, there's dA for comments, and I hope every experience you have in life is as beautiful as your artwork.
I think the rock's one of my favourite parts, actually. XD; Don't know why. Maybe because you've made it as fluid as the character and the water, somehow, and yet believably solid enough that you can imagine her weight on it. As far as criticism goes, the hand that's hanging down looks a little unnatural to me, but the rest is absolutely gorgeous, as usual. I probably won't log in for another few months, so you'd better post more stuff for me to look at! ; )
