It would've made more sense to make the backround green to contrast with the red, making it more eyepopping. It is really cool though.
The color wheel is fun.

i do think i have thought about my own painting more than you, and have figured that making the background green would have made the owl look like it was in a tree rather than flying IN THE SKY. and not all art has to have such contrast in it. you see, you use contrast in more bold things, an owl is natural, part of naute (as is the sky) so i think using those NATURAL colors are more fitting. but please do tell me if you ever see a green sky. i might paint another with a green sky.

I've seen a green sky before. Let me tell you, shrooms and green colored saran wrap are not a good combo.
